To anyone who has gotten the error message failed to open media/bytecode.byr for writing, before you run AGK2 right click on it and select run as administrator,itseems to work.

Do not put your projects in the program files directory, nor the root of your system drive. Best place is on a special projects folder in your home directory(c:\users\username\).
