Referring to Windows 10. After last year's Fall Creator update gave me headaches for days breaking my network, I disabled the update services. Well apparently it's updated itself again to 1709 and I haven't been able to see any resources on my network since! I don't know if this is the same update MS pulled due to it deleting people's files only to rerelease it a month later and still have issues, but this is getting frustrating. I miss the days when I could choose which updates to install and when, now it's just rolled into one big update and shoved down your throat!

you know disabling the service isn't enough these days. Probably a little late on responding but you might try removing any triggers in the windows task scheduler(update orchestrator) that would re-enable this monster ( and there appears to be a lot of triggers in there). Hope this solves everyone's issue with these horrid forced updates.
