AppGameKit Studio Chat / My graphic card doesn't support Vulkan, what am I losing?

Hi guys,

my NVidia Quadro 1000m is not supporting Vulkan technology. I do understand that I will not have this graphic boost, but in terms of visual quality, am I losing something? Like lights, shaders, pbr, etc.? In other words, will I suffer only for performance or visuals as well?

Visuals, maybe, because Vulkan will allow the use of better shaders. You will deffinitely lose out on the iOS market though if you develop for iOS. Apple deprecated the current opengl version which AppGameKit Classic is based on. The new AppGameKit Studio fixes this with the new Vulkan api that is compatible with the latest and upcoming iOS version.

iOS is out of my interest , I am mostly concerned about visuals on PC and Android platform.

ok, then yes, everything you can do now in AppGameKit Classic 3d wise, you will be able to do in AppGameKit Studio as it will have backward compatibility with the old renderer. Vulkan though will not work so you will miss out on any extra bells and whistles it can achieve graphically.

I guess I will have then to rely on GG loader in terms of pbr, bloom light and other visual goodies...
