I just bought the thing on Steam, fired up AppGameKit Studio ... But I can't figure out where it's supposed to be found.

Hi,

You will find it installed next to your AppGameKit Studio install, eg:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\AppGameKit Studio\DLC\Particle Editor

When we next update Studio in November we'll add a DLC menu item to make this easier in future.
