Hello there!

I would like to use a custom (non-legacy) icon for my AppGameKit games. After creating the icon files inside Android Studio https://developer.android.com/studio/write/image-asset-studio?hl=en, what should I do next?

Thanks for your time.

you can choose the app icon and notification icon you created when you export
if you want a windows icon you just include an icon called icon in your project
folder.

note there are size restrictions
I usually make mine 512 by 512
but I think 1024 by 1024 works

Yes, I'm aware of that. However I'd like to use Android API 25+ icons. Currently whenever an AppGameKit Tier 1 game is exported, to Android the AndroidManifest.xml only has references for legacy icons.

This is AndroidManifest.xml's code snippet for the new icons:

ILLUMINATED ICONS BATMAN !!!

This was a very very much requested feature for a long time.

Somehow, during one of my brief absences from the forums and the continual AppGameKit updates, I missed this.

I forget a lot of things nowadays, but I am pretty sure that I would not have forgotten this one had I known at the time.

Just tested it with an icon I created a couple days ago using Paint.NET with an icon plugin, and I am soooo happy we can do this now.

Awesome, just awesome, thanks Paul!

Coding things my way since 1981 -- Currently using AppGameKit V2 Tier 1

You could always unzip the .apk file (It is just a renamed .zip file) and manually change the manifest
