I have been pondering the recreation of the original blitzkrieg
For those of those not familiar I recreated a kinda dos version in agk like the below pic

and after playing around with concepts got something like this in 3D

as you can see In the above version have bomb trails etc like the original 2d version but now 3d
but I came up with the idea today why not use the blocklifter code that blink and I worked on
and use a tank instead of a chopper and perhaps 4 bases to try and protect including your tank
and have the planes fly over the 3d world like in the below blocklifter engine

Quote: "Im curious what do people think?
Is this just a bad idea?"

Lots of code to resort just to get some sort of test piece but I think it could work
and think camera angles could portray the bombing etc the way I want and could keep with the
retro wireframe kinda look

Nice idea! I think it has great potential.
1. I think you would have to implement the physics yourself. Making the center of the earth the center of gravity
2. I think the earth would need to be much bigger to give it a nice big play area

Thanks blink
I was thinking the tanks positioning moved might be ok with the current physics
and the camera angles but wasn't sure about the planes unless was directly centred
but your prob right would have to work a basic physics system

Looks really good, and 3D version of it too, as Blin0k suggests it will have great potential

You could have own on land troops to help you blow up your enemies, with different phases for your troops.

- March Up
- Approach
- Break In
- Combat through the depth
- Breakthrough

If could be a very challenging app but a potentially great peice of work to work on.

Keep up with the good work.

They both look great.

I like the first concept for Windows (or other PC) versions, and the second idea for Mobiles.

In fact, the first idea has inspired me to re-use some of my poacher pirates code for a Kamikaze defense type game for WWII Pacific Ocean battles.

Manning the machine gun turrets of the battle ships to thwart off plane attacks (flak) would be a nice change from the typical battleship vs battleship type games for that genre.

Moving the camera location to switch from forward and aft guns should be no problem. nor should adding a little roll effect from the waves.

Anyway, great idea for bringing the vintage 2d look into the 3d realm, without the isometric look for the other famous 3d attempts for this title.

Coding things my way since 1981 -- Currently using AppGameKit V2 Tier 1
