After approximately 15 years of starting with different engines (BlitzBasic, Irrlicht) I'm now giving this another try with AppGameKit as kind of my final attempt. Luckily I'm not alone, have a great artist on my side and you as the community for questions.

Our game will play in the future where mankind was forced to leave the surface of Earth and lives in the vast depths of the endless oceans. It's kind of a setting like Archimedean Dynasty (Schleichfahrt) had. You will be able to visit the entire earth (using that terrain streaming I did). It will be both single and multiplayer.

A very early WIP screen of the still unfinished view out of the cockpit:

Nice! I have very good memories of Archimedian Dynasty... I bought it in the UK while on a school-trip once, and it is easily one of my best souvenirs ever

What kind of art art style did you envision the sea would look like? Do you want to make the game look like Abzu? Or darker/grittier?

It will be more dark and threatening. Abzu is stunning but the design didn't fit for DP.

Here a little teaser site: http://descentprophecy.com/

Hope there will be looming and ominous underwater creatures if we go deeper, and school of fish and weeds if we go to shallower areas, to give a sense of depth

Looks nice. Hope that it would run on Android 4.1 with OpenGL ES 2.0.

Don't forget the trash.

Like those single use plastic water bottles, since the ocean will have more of those in it than fish by the year 2050.

No need for coral reefs or plankton, since they are dying off rapidly too.

Nice game idea though with the under water exploration, just a shame that the ocean is rapidly changing for the worse thanks to the overpopulation of humans and their nature to breed uncontrollably and destroy their host like the virus we are to this planet.

I think the ocean is dying as fast as the surface of this planet, hence mankind's futile attempt to venture to other planets.

The amusing thing is that the so called scientists of this planet think they can achieve terraforming them to create an ideal atmosphere for human habitation, when the idiots can't even protect this one.

Really like the dark future awareness of this game's theme though, because people really need to be focused on how fast this planet is dying, all due to the only species that is destroying it.

Sad thing is that these bleak forecasts of mankind's future is science fact based on the unsustainable lifestyles of our societies, not science fiction.

Your drydock is looking really good.

Very true to the conceptual drawing.

Nice work.
