Hello folks,

I just want to present everyone of you the
free texture packer tool:

This software can pack multiple textures / graphics into one image atlas
It has multiple packing methods and a lot self-explainable features like scaling or rotation.

A must have if you work with images in AppGameKit and do not want to have loading times of 5 minutes by utilizing seperate textures.

You can download the executable from here:
http://free-tex-packer.com/

or if you want to compile it yourself:
https://github.com/odrick/free-tex-packer

or if you just want to use if straight out of your browser:
https://free-tex-packer.com/app/

I have even created a custom export script for the free texture packer, in oder to create
a valid subimages file for AGK:

Just copy this into the editbox at the output format "custom" setting by clicking on the pen right next to the setting, and
it will create you a beautiful subimages file where the name is the actual image file name.
This results in nearly no portation work if you want to switch from single image to common atlas.
Don't forget to input the "txt" extension.

thanks, jack. looks nice,

1 question: i need to crop then scale many images before assembling. any support for this? obviously, automation would be a bonus

i can do the work with a ps script (i think) then use this tool to create the sheets, otherwise. but, "all in 1" would be a god-send.

thanks for sharing!

BTW, these are a long time coming, in my opinion:

thanks, again

@Virtual Nomad
free texture packer can scale and crop (they call it "trim" in their software)

I just tested it with alpha trim, so that invisible pixels will be cropped at the border - works fine!

Thank you for the badge

Great, but windows 10 swear at the file and won't let you download it.
Even if you turn off all antiviruses, it does not download.
programming is a hobby, not a job.

win10 does block it but you can override and "keep" the exe. otherwise, try the web version with jack's export script.
