Dont know if this belongs here but thought i would share.

The Maker of Blitz3D and others has Died.
I always saw Darkbasic and Blitz3D as Direct competitors, not only that but i found out about both in the same time wich was early 2000.

I find it is a very sad news and also Sad his last Gift to the BASIC world couldnt be finished, LibSGD.

I believe many here enjoyed also his products or atleast knew about it and for that Reason its a Sad news wich should be shared among the BASIC family.

By no means was i an Active User, not there neither here or really went far with DB or Blitz but i understood that he and TGC were the only ones keeping this space alive for game makers, despite not having financially much of it.

May he be in a better place.

Saw this not long ago. Could have sworn someone said they would pick it up but then backed out. I also found out about both around the same time, perhaps a little later than yourself, but opted to continue with DBC! RIP.

TGC forums will be closing soon - just been announced so unfortunately when you say "...and TGC were the only ones keeping this space alive for game makers..." you could not have picked a worse time to say that! (Not suggesting you meant it of current times - just the irony of timing!)

This is very sad news - my respect to Mark Sibly.

I thought Blitz Basic, Blitz 3D, Blitz Max were excellent.

I used them all for a few commerical projects early on, did my first mobile app using BlitzMax..

And I still have them all installed alongside AppGameKit on the PC I'm typing this on..

RIP Mark,
