Hello all.

This is a new app for Android and Apple which ties into the Safeplace 24 website. If you've ever asked someone "where are you?" or been asked yourself, Safeplace 24 is there to make life easier. You can share your location with anyone using just 4 words. This has some major benefits over other methods, including:

It's FREE!
The app can give you your location without needing an Internet connection.
It's much easier than trying to give someone long and cryptic GPS coordinates, especially over the phone. It's also much easier than trying to find out your closest street name or landmark, especially when you are in the middle of nowhere.
Every location in the world (land and sea) has a unique 4 word address.
The words can be entered in any order and they will still point to the same place.
Words are never repeated in the same address, and read much like a news headline making them easier to remember.
Each location is accurate to about 11 meters (roughly the size of a bus) so it should be pretty easy to find someone in that area.

The system is currently under wide-spread testing so we would welcome your feedback. Give it a try and let us know how you get on.

Thanks Arch-Ok. I originally designed the system for schools, colleges etc. and to help with safeguarding but it is proving useful for everyone.

I don't understand the purpose of that website. So its just mapping a series of 4 random words to an actual set of predetermined coordinates?

i would assume so. there are other 4-word location APIs, and at least one that requires only 3. this adds the scrolling alert, tho, which has also been done a thousand times but perhaps not combined like this.

i get that this works without the internet but i can vouch that you must know how to spell for it to be successful. @zappo, consider adding a spell-checker?
