The last test was actually number 2 so to keep in form this one is number 3.
This one uses a light and has a few more small tweaks.

Im intersted to know if people who tested the last one notice any fps
difference with using a light.

I cant seem to fix glitches on panels with light, perhaps thats inside DBP at the moment with the patch 5.2r2

The white cubes are sorted also now.

thanks for any feedback.

Later on ill implement some treasure chests and perhaps later on after that Ill do a monster test.

Looks cool man! The movement should be a bit slower though.

This one looked better. 64 FPS, never higher, never lower.

Cheers,
Preston

Still get 49 fps

Horrible glitches on the walls where presumably two wall sections overlap.

I still get 13-15 but i think my (work) machine is probably a bit on the naff side generally. It's never performed up to it's spec, need to work on the boss to get a new one.

rock solid 49 fps.

definately need to fix the overlapping walls... without a light you can't tell, but when it tries to shade the walls with the light, you get those nasty artifacts.

lookin' good though, excited about the thought of multiplayer in this bad boy!

60 fps, no drop from the last one, are the walls only supposed to have light on when you collide with them? all the walls remain dark unless i hit them, then that section lights up

TEASE!!! TEASE!!! This is not DT! There was no DWARF!!!

66fps, and saw them graphical artifacts on the walls too.
P4 1.9GZ, 512MB RAM, GF4 Ti4600

You know, if you made the box a mouse... added some chease somewhere... maybe some kinda smell-o-vision thing... and a cat or two, you'd have a whole new game! Or make it "Gauntlet 12, beyond the suckage!" or something. Yeah. I can see about a billion uses for this little thing.

thanks guys, the light issues are always different with each computer it seems and there is no overlapping of cubes so therefore its the way each computer handles the light effects.
I get these diagonal skewed rectangles as well.

thats not hard mate, I dont exactly have a rolls royce pc, more like a gogo mobile I have to sort out a better timed fps check as well so its the same on everyones when multiplayer looms around. This will be sort of ok for single player mode and testing for now.

what discourages me the most is the varied light display : eg i have these weird angular clipping issues.
Ill have to refiddle with a different light method perhaps.

um, i don't think its working right on mine then, the walls only light up when there is collision and then only on the wall you collide with, like this:

http://redeye.dbspot.com/dt.jpg

normally(no collision) it looks like this:

The screen shots help but without knowing your video card theres no way to assess it. there is a lot of irregular views with using a light source in DBP at the moment. Perhaps its the way all video cards manage the light aspect.
