There's this irish guy, who invented those lil cats eyes on the road and patented them (this was ages ago). He's dead now and his relatives are f***ing rich cos you have to pay them royalties to make cats eyes (its in the order of 0.1 cents per 100000 or something like that)

What a smart guy. He invented a flat shiny thing and now his family are rich.

Although just because he patented it, doesnt mean he owns al the oxygen in the world. So even if this was serious, he couldnt charge people to breathe. He could only charge people to create new oxygen atoms. hehe.

a gannet is a sea bird, a gamete is a reproductive cell (sperm, egg, etc.). i'm pretty sure he meant the latter.

u can only patent something you invent, or have reinvented something that has been copyrighted yet, for example, the wheel. atoms hav been around for 15 billion yrs b4 that mans birth, and were created naturally. couldn't possibly patent them.

i thought the people selling acres of the moon was NASA, for like 10$ an acre. anyway, im against that, im against even selling plots of land on the earth. it wasnt anyones earth to start with, so i shouldnt have to pay anyone for my land. i guess the counter arguement is that land has been fought for over millenia, and you're paying for the knights efforts, but... the fat man in a suit selling houses in an estate agents hardly deserves the profit.

which reminds me, you can patent stars now, and have them named after you if they dont already have a name. this also kind of annoys me. does this mean we have some massive intergallactic flamedebate when an alien claims they patented the star's name first?

well 15 billion yrs ago, every single atom was identical, and then with all the stretching and flexing and gymnastics of forming plaets out of the fabric of space, they changed for to make the 200+ elements we kno today.

every single proton in your body is 15 billion yrs old, feeling wrinkly yet?

well if the planets shold belong to anyone then it should be the people who discovered them, we should hav a flag with their name on waiting to be planted with the next bot that visits the planet in mind.

thats another thing that p1ss3s me off, the fact the americans put the american flag on the moon. i wouldn't mind if the flag was simply a napkin with the 3 astronaughts names, to make sure they go down in history, if not then they should have designed a flag that represents the world and planted that. its just that they didnt want to have to include the russians in all this. i hope they think again for mars.

actually, what happens if a UFO passes by and sees "Earth's moon: colonised by earth" if i were an alien i'd be laughing through my multiple buttcheeks at how the humans consider and boast this to be an achievment, and then patronise humans. yes, i say let the americans hav the moon. i dont want anything to do with it.

Hmmm. Well, if the americans make it to mars first, they'll put an american flag in it. Same way when they "liberated" Iraq, they stuck american flags everywhere.

But to be fair, explorers for years have been using their countries flag to symbolise them being the first one there - so fair play.
