Ive moved the thread to here now, as Iam release to beta TODAY !!

woooho> you just know theres going to be somthing big wrong
when you lot get hold of it anyways heres the latest import from lightwave. Its actually working . using nulls for triggers will be my next interest. I need to spend more time on spotlights too. Not quite sure about them, stick to pointlights unless your experimenting . Beta Release will be today

That looks excellent pathfinder... but I have a few questions:
-Does it support textures?
-Will your wonderful programming abilities ever posses you to make a version for Max? (I don't want to learn lightwave... I'm still learning max :S )

well its a bit of a cheat really you save the files as .x with the textures. Then it uses the .x files to recreate the scene.

dunno about making a max one . Maybe over christmas? Ill have to get that 30 day trial though so it will be a one off

oh well... I thinkg for max you'll have to use Max Script, which you probably won't know. Oh heck,my school has it, maybe they'll teach me LightWave next year... or the year after (By which time your little export script should be perfect right?)

what does this exporter do really ?

Does it export the LW scene ( by creating a .x file ), or is it just a scene definition that is exported ? ( meaning you'll have to convert the scene by yourself using a converter ... )

you export the .x using www.dstorm.co.jp direct x exporter. It then rebuilds the scene rotation, scale, light colour, light range, nulls, triggers, for you in DB and DBpro.

the next task for me is to write a tutorial, it is possible to work out from the scne i provided. But it really does need a guide now
