Hi there, does anyone know when the next release of this is due ? I need to be able to import other objects Also, the "no grid snap" stuff with MS is becoming a pain, (also, where do you see object sizes in pixels ?) .. so I'm thinking of making my objects in TruSpace (the free version) instead, is .cob to .x conversion easily available ? I only need to make basic shapes, but its very important I can see/edit the sizes easily with grid snap to make my job simpler i.e. make me a box 20x20x20..

Thanks

Cheers.

You may want to try TS3se since there's more tools in it...Actually,there are tools in it,yeah.

What I mean, someone prove me wrong please,is that TSx1 free edition has a good renderer,BUT lack low-polygon modeling tools...For instance,no welding or collapsing so if you import a model in it,you will see a seam between all faces so you'll have to do everything manually...Whenever possible though.

I'd use it if it weren't for that....

Still, you'll find it useful if all you want is a Grid Snap because there is one in it if I remember correctly plus, from what you may already know, the software runs like hell in a 32-bit environment.

Or maybe will Raven come and tell us where it is if there's any?

Well I'm not sure of a free trueSpace1, but I have a copy of trueSpace2 Pro which is free - I could upload as its only about 12mb...

the same interface as 3SE only you can edit the grid snaps, the face values - is actually a pretty sweet product with all the features in it that they left out of 3... and it exports 3DS so no problems with export issues
It should have everything you need, but i'll have to crack open my backup CD's box when i get home tonite

Not really any good for modelling but the Render engine i a pure deamon much better than most Max's and considerably quicker (especially raytracing)
If you like the demo, they oftenly do sell it for demo downloaders at a discount, oftenly 25% of the original price.

hehee I'm trying to find the blasted CD, not easi searching throu like 6cases full of CDs - gonna take me most of my afternoon, if i was inclined to actually do that for the after noon.

Yeah there is a Pro edition, not too different form Standard - just had some TSX plugins which enabled some better modelling.

Hey Raven, if you happen to stumble across the cd then great. A free version of TS2Pro sounds good I really like MilkShape but I need to bring order to chaos with my model sizes, quickly and easily. I even debated creating the shapes using plains/triangles in DBP then saving them out to obj.. would be a ton of work tho!

Cheers.

Oki well i've found a cover cd with ts2 standard... still pretty good thou (^_^)
I'll probably take it down once that guy gets TS3 up, because they are essentially hehee

There are 5 downloads i'm uploading now,
Disk 1 - 1.25Mbyte
Disk 2 - 1.37Mbyte trueSpace 2 itself
Disk 3 - 1.34Mbyte Intel 3DRender (optional install)
Disk 4 - 1.32Mbyte Video for Windows 1.1e (Win3.x)
Disk 5 - 1.19Mbyte WinG & Win32 (Win3.x)

don't bother with the last two downloads unless you want to use this on a Win 3.1 system
also it may not install on WinME ... not sure why but something the installation crashes on them.
