Well you certainly have the fundementals, Dont let the renderer fool you though. Import it into darkbasic for a better representation of your model. Ive noticed alot of 3D packages are to kind to my models, they tend to tidy up the mesh a little. Then you put it into DB and you realise polys are all over the shop, or overlapping. A part from a bit of tweaking youve got a good building block there. I assume were not talking 1000+ polys.

skin it

Looks great - but it's far too high poly, really a 12 sided cylinder should be a really generous maximum for the barrels and round parts. An actual modelled hole at the end of the barrel is not a good idea, 1. it greatly increses the polycount, 2. it'll never be seen. I'm guessing the polycount is well over 1000, you need to cut that down by at least half.

Nice work though, you gonna texture it or use the mesh colours?

thanks for the comments.

in response to "Van B", it will not be textured, just coloured in the way you see it (that is the style of the game). i am not that sure of the poly count (will check later), but i think it is pretty low - the biggest two cylenders have 12 sides and all the others have 10, and the base & trigger which were spline modeled are pretty low

I know what you mean, it does look very smooth for 700 polies.

Nice work on the polycount .

BTW this model would look great with some nice wood and dark metal textures.

No £10, i am gonna texture it now.
it is going to be used in a game similar to GTA3/Mafia sort of game but 1st person and you cant drive cars, and it will be more like an rpg (with missions)

Wow- I cant believe you bought it. That is just,,,,,,wrong. Chronic dont go to the pirated market, it will get you no respect and an overall disliking around here.

BOC, I am afraid you have gone down this path

I do not respect individuals who support those nasty piraters. Therefore, I will be of NO help from now on.

Wow! Nice! I can see how it is under 700 poly. If you look closely, you'll notice he didn't use as many sides for the parememter of his cylindrical objects as it looks (ie barrel, and scope). Not bad at all, but I agree with pathfinder that you should test it out in dbp. Looks a lot like the 3D modeler might have tweaked it well.
