Some of you may remember the shots of this when I was working on the HUD graphics in Photoshop. But this is ingame and really working. It's fully dynamic but it's not reading the values from an array yet that's why it's the same for all characters. I'm not sure I will work anymore today, look back tomorrow for more.

Things to do:
Add character images
Reading from array
Points left/cost
Detecting avalible upgrades
Mouse intereaction

Comments please =)

Not world shaking but I LIKE this a lot. Very simple, very clear, very nice. Will implement well in to a game

Nice and colourful hehee
probably make it look more bold if you made everything seem a little flatter.

Vegeta:
What do you mean?

Since the last shot was so confusing (over at RGT) I thought I better show one with the bars working as they should reading the info from an array. I turned of (green) all the meters so you don't get confused by them =) Since you have already seen the hi res shot there is no need for bigger shots then 400x300.

And the types in DBP is wonderful I can now call the stats like this "stat(1).att" for character 1's attack skill. Beats how I did it with only numbers years ago in Lingo =) Yeah, I've been trying to make a RPG for a very long time...

BTW, RGT sure still is the best place to show of your work, I get more replies over there =) And I can attach my shots there and link to them from here...

I think maybe Vegeta means 'flatter' like make the components not so smoothly coloured and gradient filled. In a way I would agree with that point, as the icons do look a little "platorm game-ish" but I do think they look cool as they are it depends what style of game you are going for. No-one said RPGs have to be scarey looking and adult, Kingdom Hearts is quality

Here's another shot. I have made it detect avalible upgrades (brown) and mouse position, highlighting avalible upgrades if the mouse is over them (orange). It also displays avalible points and upgrade cost of the marked skill. More info on how this works when I complete this screen later today or tomorrow. This is a lot more fun to program then the game itself since there are no DBP bugs to worry about =)

Things to do:
Add character images
Clicking to increase skill
Experience level.

Roo:
Well, I like them they way they are, that's why I made them like that =) The rest of the game is cartoon style. I think the 3D style really makes them look pro. Oh and there are no gradient fills used =)

Oh, I forgot =)

Woohoo! It's almost finished now. I can now spend experience points (that I recive by pressing enter =)) to raise the skills of the characters. Now I need some more graphics and then it will be complete =) Get ready for the final shot tomorrow and a full description.

Next I'm gonna tackle the inventory screen... I'm in a real coding mode now =)

I didn't say you should change it, I think it looks great! I was just saying that might have been what Vegeta meant by making every thing 'flatter'. But now I have seen your other posting I definitely think you should keep it the same

I understood you the first time =) I meant it as a reply to what you thought Vegeta meant.
