I saw the adverts for that Garfield movie...seems like another one of those "did it because they could" type of attrocities.

Really? I heard that was long on crappily done special effects and short on quality. I mean, Vin Diesel plays the main character...

Garfield!?! Bahahahahaha. Sorry, but that's just a pathetic cash grab. Let's hope it burns in hell just like the Scooby and Flintstone atrocities.

Hey. Vin Diesel's surname is "Diesel".

He's cool.

Pitch Black was pretty good.

Did you see pitch black? lol.

Special effects weren't crappy. Some actors were pretty bad though.

And the Riddick series is one of the few movies Diesel is good in.

I HATE GARFIELD!!! Garfield is the gayest existing thing in the entire cosmos. Whoever created Garfield is retarded and needs to visit a mental institution. I don't know what people see in the moronic pointless crap. It should be wiped from existence never to return!

Okaayy..... maybe your feelings about Garfield are a little bit too strong.

It's a cartoon - I have no feelings either way.

I like Garfield mainly because his attitude is typical of cats - lazy and self indulgent. Fred Bassett is a fairly accurate cartoon about dogs...

You don't understand, Chris Knott. I despise Garfield. It is the saddest attempt at comedy I have ever experienced in my LIFE! If you want true comedy watch "Along Came Polly". Not some gay discrace to 3d animation. I think Garfiel was created specifically to PISS ME OFF!!!

Garfeild's funny, like Dilbert and Dave Barry. Anyone who hates a fictional character is screwed in the head, you don't HAVE to read the comics. Anyway that guy's an idiot, you have to be REALLY, REALLY stupid to like "Family Guy"(aka The Simpson's with new drawings).

Vin Diesel is quite cool, but his movies suck. I say.."Give the guy a good movie!" He can play the part, but has never been given the part to play. Garfield is a cartoon cat...... Well Scooby Doo was good!

Went a saw some movies today, Riddick, and Day after Tomorrow. Special effects were good in both. Actors were OK in both. Story in riddick was pretty good, while Day after tomorrow had the stupidest f*ckin story I have ever heard.

Garfield's 3d model looks pretty good, but the movie probably dosen't portray anything like the comic strip.

I don't hate fictional characters. I love spongebob and Kuntaro from Golden Boy. How can you like the sad attempt at comedy that Garfield has taken over. Please stop saying good things about Garfield. He makes my blood boil every time I hear his gay voice or see him on TV, or listen to someone say positive things about that nucence.

not seen or heard anything about Garfield..
Riddick looks kinda like Triple X to me; basically like Arnie think Vin is going to be typecast now. Could be wrong, xXx wasn't bad, just wasn't amazing either.

Day After Tommorrow... sorry but to me it screams 'Independance Day' the story could be good but it's more special effects and big-budget hoohar.

A film i'm looking forward to is SharksTale the new one with wil smith, looks pretty funny.

You're lucky. You've never heard about Garfield. I'm jealous. Day After Tomorrow was mad by the same people who made Independence Day, and you're right, it does look cheesy. But Chronicles of Riddick does look good, I'm seeing it today.

As is standard procedure here, I'll see Garfield a week after it comes out. I also want to see I, Robot, Shrek 2, Alien V Predator and maybe Thunderbirds.

Alien vs Predator is a must see i think... i like the whole concept story behind it; obviously was written by the team that did alien/aliens because it has that feel to the plot.
Shrek 2 should be cool, but that's partially why I'm lookin forward to Shark Tale; from the same guys, similar sense of humour.
If the trailer is anything to go by looks laden with alot of animated humour rather than verbal; pretty funny to try and see an angel fish trying to pretend to wring someones neck

Quote: "Nothing like Triple X. THat was a different movie; this is following pitch black"

I didn't mean in terms of story or such... i ment in style; Pitch Black was good because it created alot of tension, not great just good. But the trailer to Riddick suggests it's more about the action which would spoil the atmosphere and hense why i think it seems more like xXx.

As i said, not a bad movie; just not something i'll watch until it's in blockbuster.

Agreed, AvP looks bloody awesome. I've been a big fan of both games and although there's been talk of a movie for years I was never really sure if they would actually make one. I'm so glad they have though and it actually looks pretty damn good, the story behind it is also a lot more interesting then what the games had so that's cool too.

And although the tagline is quite obviously "Whoever wins... we lose", I have a feeling the Predators will still side with the Humans, mainly because their race seems built about fighting for survival (and initiation) and I guess that sort of relates with the situation the Human race is in. Then again, I've seen a couple scenes in the trailer where the Humans are fighting a Predator so I'm probably completely wrong. It will be very cool none-the-less though.

No, they were all written by different people. I guess they were just Alien nuts. (Not the only ones eh Rich?)

I think the plot to AvP is that Predators are the universe's best hunters and there's no prey that they can't get, so life gets a bit boring - so they create the Aliens as a challenge to hunt, but they're a bit good. So the film will be about the Aliens and the Predators fighting, but whoever wins the humans will still have to fight.

Looks like crap to me.

Riddick's meant to stay faithful to it's B-Movie roots. Isn't Judi Dench his sidekick? Won't be getting much action out of her.

Yeah it was ok, nothing really special about it though. The thing I don't like about diesel is he plays the same 1 dimentional character in virtualy every movie. Maybe he only gets offered those roles, or maybe he just chooses to take them but its like he's a one trick pony.

Oh and as for garfield, I love the cartoon but I doubt the movie is very good, could be wrong though.

Day After Tomorrow=platform for environazis to spout off exagerated rhetoric. Global warming causes an ice age, really?

Please resist the temptation to demonstrate your immaturity on the forums.

I presume you don't like Garfield because you don't understand it, rather than because its not your style of humour.
