Check out our new site layout

A few warnings first.

1- Login doesnt work atm, but the scripts are done, we just need to make it so you can do stuff when logged in

2- None of the links work, we just wanna see how you like the site.

3- The repeating textures are being fixed right now

The big question here is

DO YOU LIKE THE LAYOUT!!!

What do you like, what dont you like. What should be changed, what should be kept? We need your opinions!

Thanks

RPGamer

I like the layout

Megaton, it says that you designed the site at the bottom, I'm confused...

There's no problem so large it can't be solved by killing the user off, deleting their files, closing their account and reporting their REAL earnings to the IRS.

I like it. Nice and RPG-like. The only thing i'd say is move the drop down menus below the main menu buttons, otherwise they get in the way of the other buttons.

EDIT

Also, the left column section is too wide in my opinion.

While I don't know if it's temporary or not,you don't have to explain how to surf the website on the frontpage(hopefully )

I like all of it except...

-The big image at the top is just a bit too simplistic... a polygonal guy, ship, water & sun doesn't hold much, er, drama; 'oomph'. For examples of title images that do have 'oomph', here's an RPG sites--

http://www.elderscrolls.com/index.php

Now obviously you don't have tens of thousands of $ worth of artists bought by the major media company backing you on your team , and I think you're all doing a fantastic job with what you've got; I just think that a bit more 'action' or perhaps even just more stuff in the image would really help it feel more... engaging.

Congrats .

Wow, Big improvement over the old one, and it will give a nice polished representation for your game.

I'm currently redoing the whole thing to prevent the background texture repeating in the table, the few border hicups at the top, and generally reduce the amount of images.

I have a suggestion:
I can't code, but I have an idea:
Go over the buttons, and a scroll drops out beneath it, the exact same length as the button
Make the latest screenshot just a little bit bigger, because I can't see much of it.
Right under "Recent News And Updates", there seems something a little bit strange with the bar beneath it imho...maybe just take the bar off

Really sorry to be so critical...just trying to help, please don't take this as an insult, just friendly advice

Sorry I took so long to answer ...

The drop-downs are just a completely different style from the rest of the page. If they had a wooden backing they would fit in much better than they do now.

You probably want to disguise the grey login buttons too somehow.

The drop downs would look much better if they were positioned in-line with the buttons, and like rob said, with a wooden texture on them. Other than that its looking great.

Damn you Flibble!! Damn you!

Just... Just shut up will you, you're giveing away all our secrets.
First it's the Aussies secret plot to be in power, now this. I mean, sheesh!

The new ED site looks good though, really nice and slick.

One suggest for the "drop-Down" menu's is to not make them drop-down at all, but something like the Macromedia site has where the sub-menu fades in in the blank space below.

All that it would require is a bit of simple JavaScripting ( or scripstealing... same thing really ) and to create a little blank space justbelow the main buttons for the fade-ins to occurr.

Just my 2c.

Jess.

Shut it Exeat.

That big red ban button is beckoning...

To all those that don't know, Exeat thinks I have a thing about Javascripting, and well, he's just a cheeky bugger. lol.

John,
Hope you get the menus sorted

Jess.

Lol, nah, I found it on a website somewhere, I think it's some fanart for Resident Evil - If I was that good at art, I wouldn't be programming.
