I posted this in the 20 line challenge area, but the source button killed my code.

so i'm posting it here as it's a complete program in it's own right.

Thanks for the comments guys,

It makes my day when someone posts a positive comment or 2 about my work, many thanks.

I'd love to see a lot more 'scener type code' appearing on the forum, it gives you the freedom to play around with the software and have fun creating pointless bits of code that do nothing, other than look or sound cool.

It would be great to take a load of code snippits and ideas from the forum massive, and glue them together to make a bigger demo to show off our collective skills as coders and artists.

regards, fellow coders, geecee3.

I have made it 96 lines so that people who like it spaced out can see it better.

PS> Great work

Odd, your original post got the result Ilya shows in his pic, but the spaced out one Powersoft provided works.

Anywho, that was awesome.

I had to space mine out also. But I always do it automatically as most truncated code will not run properly on my machine for some reason. I have to space out all of the code snippets and 20 line challenge codes.

Very nice geecee, I had to set the sync rate manually though, cos it went waaaay to fast.

@DavidT: You could try and put it in yourself

Hi geecee3,
Looks great.....but then I love anything that reminds me of the old Amiga demo scene.

If you haven't seen it already check this out.....demo maker tool and some superb examples.

Biggist Respek, to the man like the FOG.

cheers mate, that is the best bit of freeware EVER. Some of the demos made using it are awesome. Hey I took your advice and bought PRO now theres no looking back, I think I'll re-write my shooter using all those lovely new graphics commands, and mabey speed it up a bit in the process. Oh you know those skybox environments that pro uses? .Well I have made a 4 sided quad based SPHERE that affords no distortion of the skybox at the edges. and cause it's cubic map based (forced, not a hardware effect) there is no pointy graphics at the top either. Im going to be using this new effect in a demo i'm writing. I think you'll like it! Anyway m8 thanks for posting that link. Any new projects on the go?

@ Kenatree - I always use an uncapped framerate, For the best results I force VSYNC in my graphics card properties and set my monitor to display a 60Hz image. This is the only way I have found that will allow me to run at a solid 60FPS. Disable Vsync and I get frame rates in the 1000's for some programs. (the particles showcase demo runs @ 800FPS+ on my system without VSYNC). I am using a Radeon 9800XT hercules 3d prophet, Awesome card. If I use SYNC RATE 60 in my code, the graphics glitch like mad, I hate frame dropping or any kind of glitch for that matter LOL. glad you like it though. wait till you see my next one. (that was just messing around for the 20 line challenge).

totally tripped out, geecee3.

Hehe, well, I can see how my Geforce FX5200 compares to that . Might I suggest you use a movement limiter then? Base the movement on the amount of FPS, so if it goes over 60, the movement is less than if it were 60 or under.
