I believe you can go from GMAX to M3D and from there you can use Milkshape 3D to save in X or 3DS.

Forum culture tip: "A Little help" sucks rocks when it comes to a meaningful title for your message. The search function of this forum uses the titles of messages for its key word searching. It is accidentially selfish and wasteful to not use a meaningful title.

Nobody looking for file format conversions for GMAX is going to use "little help" in their search.

M3D is the Quake 3D format which Milkshape 3D can read. Milkshape 3D is an inexpensive 3D swiss army knife for game modellers. It is shareware so you can try before you buy.

Hmm, i can't seem to find the tempest pack to export from Gmax to M3D. Also will it retain textures?

Ok, i tried this, but the model turns out textureless, so im going to have to find a nice person to import my file into 3dsmax and then export as 3ds.
