I've glad you liked it. I've actually made a number of changes to levels and such since that last version, But since I've now added a bunch of music, it is too big for a quick download.

ok, zircher,
i put up a download of my snake-game at,
http://free.hostdepartment.com/i/ibolrecords/Download1.html
so now i'm going to try and download yours...
from what i've read they're pretty different...
mine has all the media/sound/music stripped out,
for ease of download.
(i'm not in "competition" with you, your just probably the person on this board that i have the most interaction with...)

bob

[EDIT] as you say...

i just played your game for the first time,
and my mouth was hanging open most of the time.

that's amazing! it took me about a minute to figure out how the
controls work, but your physics-heavy stuff is awesome.
and in your game, if you made your own body deadly,
you'd never get anywhere.
and it's so damned smooth.
excellent.

Ah, that's right, I got so busy that I forgot to add that missing DLL back in. You can get the DLL from Walaber's Newton wrapper. I'll try to update that demo tonight to fix it as well.

Zircher - did you use the Newton splach screen? if so, I recently got a new, high-res photoshop version of the logo to replace the old one (ripped from the Newton website)... if you want it I'll send it to you (let me know what format), so you can replace it in your game!

p.s. congrats on sumbitting your game! I know it will do well!

did you son's kaiju game ever see the light of day?

Sure, last minutes tweaks are par for the course. A better Newton splash page would be cool.

Justin's kaiju game is still in the design stage, but we're still working on it. Found a book call Designing with Kanji at the local library. It has very cool stuff that we want to include.

Thanks, Indian Homie G, hopefully the judges will find it addicting.

It does look like I'm going to have to resubmit. Eric_T was kind enough to point out some problems with my first attempt. And, I want to use the new splash page image. Good job on that, BTW.

Walaber, this might be old hat for you, but the Kanji book is more of an art book with assorted words that a graphics designer or tatoo artist would like to use such as fire, water, ninja, etc. All the characters are presented in a nice format with multiple fonts and explainations about the kanji origin and such.

We're thinking abut using the kanji as as overlays for attacks or perhaps with descriptions of the powers and critters your can select. Quick trivia question, what the difference between kaiju and daikaiju? I've seen both used to describe giant monsters. Is 'dai' a prefix for great or powerful ala Daikatana? (The blade, not the game...)

sounds pretty interesting! Kanji are really interesting to study, feel free to ask me if you have any questions, if I don't know the answer I can ask anyone at work as they're all Japanese

"dai" meand "big", and is often used as a prefix to mean extra large, in both literal and figurative senses... so a "daikaijyu" would be a particularly big/powerful kaijyu
