The day I received DBPro , I made a little demo to see the speed improvement on DBPro in comparison with DBV1 for 2D graphics.
That demo is very basic and only use "PASTE IMAGE".
No sprites command used .
I also use the EXCLUSE DISPLAY MODE to get smoother scrolling.
And with test , i get more than 380fps when i turn off sync ( sync rate 0 ) , on my 1.2Ghz+GF2TI64 PC.

It is strongly inspired from the game called "shadow of the beast" from Psygnosis on Amiga .
You can download it here if you want to try it :

Hey very nice Do you mind if we feature that in the showcase here on darkbasicpro.com ?

I like the way you included the DBV1 and DBPro exes.

Cheers,

Rich

Yes you can put it in the showcase
If you want , I can directly send you a version with source code included.
note that the same source code can be used with both DBv1 and DBPro

It's cool but it doesn't display the FPS on the DBPro version (at least on my PC)

per default , the demo run using the 'exclusive' mode then there is no need to display de FPS because that mode adjust frame reate with the screen refresh rate.

If you want to modify the code to view FPS , go to snippet area and download the full package that contain the source code.
Then you'll be able to modify what you want to see the result. . .

Nice demo. It's good to start seeing some things made in DB Pro.
