I just picked up dark basic at the store the other day because I am interesting in programming games and have had a little experience with C. Upon trying to do the full install i recieve a crc error, which means there is a data file in the executable that is corrupt on the cdrom. I did a minimum installation and everything seems to work fine but I am wondering if I am missing anything good. I saw a picture of a final fantasy style battle system and was wondering if i missed one of those examples. Does anyone have this file? I would really like to take a look at some of the example code for an rpg battle system. Thank you for any help you can provide.

try contacting the DB Team in order to discuss the fact that you may have a faulty cdrom.

Did you even try to install the full thing again? Sometimes it helps as the cd can occasionaly jump. Also, check for scratches or other anomolies. If you still cant find anything after that, go back to the shop and tell them you got a faulty cd.

Whatever I did I didn't do it!

That FF battle system you saw was Equilibrium. If you bought DB to make that, your a loooooooooooooong ways from there

Your going to have to start smaller. RPGs are a huge task, and are not for newbies

Does your comp support Direct X? That may be a prob if it doesnt. Id try a full install though...
