Hmm, mistake or not, I'm going to leave the original statment so no one is coming here to see a flamer who likes Rush.

Okay. To start this off, I'll name Myself and my partner. Our alias'.

He is Torq.

I am Akira.

My skills and department in this project are the following:

Original Game Concept, Original Player concepts, Original Weapons and Armor concepts, Original Class concepts, 3D Animations of characters, clothing, armor, weapons, and world, Original skill concepts(w/ Torq), Architectural concepts(w/ Torq).

Torq's skills and department in this project:

Pure Coding w/ the Dark Basic Pro engine, Development of networking for the coding between software and hardware, newly built custom servers able to handle our custom programmed flags of creatures and players to run a smother, lag-resistant game.

Game Pitch:
Seraphim Productions Presents

MyEpic Life:
Post-Apocalyptic adventure ain’t so bad!

Tired of the same boring ideas that keep trying to, “reinvent,” themselves? If you’re such a hero in these games, how come you look exactly like everyone else in the game? Don’t you think it’s kinda boring just hacking and slashing… well, not even that really, more like hitting the attack button and sitting there. We here at Seraphim Productions, Torq and myself, believe games should be different. More of a realism, an actual feeling of being submersed in the world. We try and touch down to the smallest details. If you’re playing a melee character, you should be able to dodge and use different kinds of attacks, right? You should be able to make your own pattern of attacking with the character you play. If you always fake to the left first and then come in with a mid-level slash, followed by a special, “ground eruption,” attack, you should be able to, right? If you’re in an real world, should it take 10 minutes to get to the other side of the continent? When you throw an unaimed fireball and hit’s a mountain, does that mean the mountain it able to take the full blast? Wouldn’t a crater form? Maybe open a hole into a cave structure unknown to you before? In real life, do you walk down the street and suddenly just learn a spell because you leveled? Don’t you have to go to school and study to learn something?

We truly believe that a true MMORPG should be something that is never taken lightly. RP in RPG stands for Role Playing, right? Not, “Retard Proof.” If someone sucks at the game, then they suck. You can only get better. We think that instead of worrying so much about stats and having that, “Epic Item,” that you should be worrying about if you even know how to cast your spells, or actually engage in a sword fight. You should be your character, not your stats and equipment. Yes, a RPG is a leveling, story based game. And we will involve that, but not abuse it. Have you ever seen someone beat a person up and then automatically a certain option opens up? Or you’re now allowed to go to a certain area? Not with us, the game does not mold the players, the players mold the game. Of course the players can’t control everything, a main story will drive the game and its’ continual updates and expansions, but it will be based on player involvement. For example, if we put out that the demon world is starting to take over and no one steps up…. Looks like the demon world is taking over. The players will have to deal with an apocalyptic world, and build it back up if they want. If not, guess the majority of the players are evil, and the Good vs. Evil just got flipped.

Why do monsters drop stuff they would never actually carry? Why did you always have to go to a special area or be a certain class to sell something? With us, you can buy your own house, store your extra stuff or personal items. Think you got what people want? Open up your own little merchant shop, sit the items out, price them how you want. Hate running across our expansive worlds? Always losing to much money when you take a boat? If you got a lot of money, and friends who do too, try buying an airship. Ain’t gonna be easy, I heard the queen of the airship city is a selective kinda person. So, looks like you’re gonna have to find someway to appease her, or another way to get an airship passport to dock at her city. Sure, you can spend the money to have an airship built for you, fly it wherever, buy who’s just gonna leave an airship sitting somewhere? Do you trust everyone in the game who’s probably trying to achieve world domination? Besides, wouldn’t you just feel glamorous flying into the airship city, docking, being greeted by royal guards, commoners below gawking up at you and your power.

We hope to drive our game through a commerce stature. The more money you have, the better off you are. Of course, money isn’t anything without the power to back it. No power, you might as well just label yourself as a pawn for some other tyrants dream. You will build your character, you will still go along the same aspects as other RPGs, but in a different sense. You will need to go to school to learn your spells and combat varieties. If you want special, more powerful skills, looks like you’re treasure hunting. And you better be a keen and quick one, there is only one of each ancient artifact we create. While a book of DOOMFIRE or whatever can be passed around, or sold, it’s a little harder to share a Fire Sword. While all actual weapons can be mimicked, and some new ones created, they won’t be as strong as a demi-god arcane enchanters’ creation. Or maybe they will be as powerful, just not as permanent.

Do you know, in real life, what your exact stats would be? You have more of a general idea, and not even a general idea of “My dexterity might be…” it’s more like, “I could probably dodge that blow and come back with this.” We are trying to create a new system of leveling for people to experience. You will no longer be a level, you will be in a class range. Such as, “alpha, beta, omega, ect.” While you will be able to see a graphical representation of actual levels, we’re trying to keep away from stat molds. Your actions in the game will reflect your characters strengths and weakness’. Don’t do something for awhile? Looks like you may have forgot a little, have to learn again. Good thing you only need a quick refresh to get back to the skill you were at before. And although all classes will have their ups and downs, we’re trying to keep away from powerhouse classes. We’re trying to keep a level of balance and letting the players be the power. A level 2 black mage should, if the other sucked enough, be able to take out a level 19 cleric, right?

Another aspect of our game we wish for people to enjoy, is the feel of power. I hated starting a new game and just feeling pathetic for only having 18 points of life. Now, although I’m new, I wasn’t born yesterday. I should be able to have a sense that I’m actually somebody and that a squirrel couldn’t kick my ass. And personally, myself, I love exaggeration. If I can do A little over 200 damage the first time I hit something, that makes me feel good. Besides, I always thought with more hit points, comes more play with length in battles. I can end it quickly or it might be drawn out, all on how I play it.

Specifics on Classes and Races:

Now, in my game, I detest playing a certain race w/ a certain class in hopes of "maxing out" my character. So, to eliminate this, I took away races . . . for now. You will start of as a human looking character, size and looks are all up to you. You'll have control over your body size, weight, height and muscular appearence. Of course, along with the classic control of eyes and hair and other smaller facial features. But, races aren't too important just yet, the real segregation comes in the classes. I will briefly give a small description of all classes in my game.

Tranquil Hand - Of course, this is your normal cleric, healer that's been revised from common placement and beefed up. No longer will your Holy Virgin shriek in fear, instead they'll weild their mighty gifts of the Loving One. Holy Justice and Feverent Exorcism will run all darkness in chaos that they love! Let them fear your Judgment!

Obscure Ruin - Where would we be without our balance to the Shrine maiden of life? There is always death breathing about dark arts. What normal person wouldn't want all the riches in the land? And the power to back them. Demonic invocations, tempering wrath, a tyrants true power lays in the resting souls six feet under. This does not exclude fallen heros along their journies.

Inevitable Anomaly - Now, not everyone has the ability to control time and their body to such precision as this secht. With the skills to improve on any and all parts of themselves, sometimes even that of others, is truly a fearsome opponet indeed. Not exactly an equal battle when a person can tune their muscles and brain for a quicker reaction time, all while making precision blows to slow you down, is it?

Illicit Juxtaposition - A person who delves into the world of which all men and women fear. Their most feared opponet of a different anatomy and physiology. Where monsters and souls are used for the most awry purposes, not a holy art, and neither a dark one. What classification do those have who can summon ancient spirits and the beasts that surround them? Fear, alone will answer your question.

Stellar Conjurer - Of all the arcane arts around, no matter the power or justice lain behind them, it seems people just can't forget about the natural elements that surround them every day. And why shouldn't they? as the most popular and varying array of skills, they're to be feared the most for their cunning tricks and foul play. Fire burn you, water to drown. Wind to cut you, and earth to mound.

Mother & Father Vicar - What happens when you're aligned with the driving force of evoloution itself? The biggest player in world events? The planet is not one to mess with and neither are its' children.

Mercenary - The blade calls to all, but in different ways. Which path would you follow?

Bounty Hunter - Those who are feared the most should be hunted by those only greedy enough to risk their life for a few coins. Lawless in many ways, you have the freedom to take down your opponet, no matter the way, as long as you can bring back them unto the judicial justice.

Defender - There's no better life then a kings, correct? what's the next best thing? Of course the personal body guard of a king! Or someother official who feels he or she is in need of protection! Open up your purse all, protecting isn't an easy job!

Gladiator - Enjoy the spectacle of fighting with a sword, getting paid for it, and risking your life under semi-controlable aspects with possibility of fame? Don't wait to long, your stage awaits!

Beserker - Does the feel of a sword in your hand feel like your answer for vengance? It just might be, let the blood flow with your own.

Juggernaut - A beserk is only a mad-mans glory. Rather live your days out with your mad-man loot? Clad up in armor as a one man army of defenseful destruction.

Knight - The kings army is always calling for skilled warriors to protect its' city. Garunteed land and gold, what easier job is there?

Paladin - None greater then the Paladin, a righteous fighter in the name of good. Pure and Lawful, this knights sword deals judgement. Let us hope that we do not one day find ourselfs with a paladin who may stray from his crusade onto a massacre.

Arcane Devourer - Nothing better then a swordsman who can swing his sword like anyother. . . and devour the arcane powers of his foe. Untrained to duplicate and weild them back skillfully, his devoured power turns into a point blank cannon of fury, but this swordsman is always ready for close combat.

Artificial Shadow - Those who walk the valley of darkness without being seen are a small group of anonymous rogues. Their arts are deadly like no other, unclassified skills wielding shadow powers. Their a secret society of walking shadows.

13 Bars - Another secret lifestyle admist the large forest near the phase tree, none is known to much of them except to fear them. Easily spotted in any city for their literal tattooing of 13 green bars down their body, their silence is a glory none wish to break. It's said that when one speaks, it is to pray for the soul of their recently slain... but no one knows, as no one has lived to tell.

Armor Spirit - Divine Relations with the deceased and resting have a strange way of protecting their right to pass on. Interlayed spirit paths in their weapons, to summon a power like no others, this is a public secret that only the rigorous accomplish. They say that even a freshly sainted Armor Spirit has the power to topple great adversaries. But, how would they do that if their power is to defend?

Sky Stiletto - A style of sword fighting developed within the grand city of flying ships itself, this artform was applied to sword fighting in the idea that a mage can fight from a distance. So, why can't a swordsman? This deeply, yet newly developed skill is the talk of many, for its' controversial style. Ranged sword fighting with the fighter never swinging his sword infront of himself. What's a mage to do when he has two shortswords swinging about infront of him, but no fighter to target?

To touch a little on the Illicit Juxtaposition:
They can summon any creature in the game if they have so attuned themselves to that creature and also something we call 'vigilant souls'

Summon spells are the eminated entities of fallen warriors, so just their soul lives on to fight for those capable of weilding their mighty power. Their spirit is not usually a complete replica of their former self. It's usually a manifestation of their actual soul, such as a dragon or a firce beast of a certain element pertaining to their power. While any monster's soul may be summoned if the proper ritual is taken to convince their soul to help them, a, "vigilant soul," must be granted by the warrior him/herself.

Because of the accidental past creations of. "vigilant souls," it has actually become a ritualistic, traditionalistic kind of way. They will hold arena style battles of warriors againt each other, and once it gets down to the last two, their are to face the last soul to become a vigilant. Within this they must first beat the soul, to prove their power, and then comes a secret trial, unknown to the still living, of dedication and what's needed to be a vigilant.

Already born vigilant souls include:

Juuko - Manifested after a legendary beast called the Lenkop. A mantis-spider combination, with a special attack to barrage the opponet with a fury of jabbing forlegs. Agility is this creatures domain.

Piiaty - Manifest after an Aarchum. A titan like beast who's rage is unstopable. Special attack- Blood Drain: An adrenaline pumping non-stop attack until the death of himself or his opponet. Domain is fire/rage.

Hoii - Manifest of a blue dragon. ancient and wise, this beast is cunning and deadly. Special attack- Lightning breath. Domain is lightning.

Seshyee-yek - Manifest of a giant, this power house is terrifying. The man himself stood at almost 10 feet, massively built. Even the giants thought twice when taking him on, and for a good reason. special attack - Earth Wave: By smashing the ground with a large hammer, he can send a shockwave of earth at the opponet. Domain is Earth.

Noriko - Manifest is of herself, a powerful and wise wizard. special attack: A cluster bomb of fireballs. Domain: Fire.

Jusenkyo - Manisfest of a sky flying water-worm. Like a giant tapeworm, attuned to large bodies of water. Special attack: Gavity droplet: it will drop a large droplet of water, which will smash, them form back together to throw the enemy in the air.

A little playing around with in-game quests:

Quests - Not just anybody can conquer the world! Visit cities to find out about the different fields of combat you can learn! All cities will have information, but only key cities have the entry level school! Hope you got some money in: Learning to Destroy!

Want to find out what actually happened? Partake on a quest that will drag you around the continents, to find a magical island with a library to teach you about the past. Who knows, maybe even a new spell or two! Relics galore in magical places! Let’s go in: The Mystery of the Past!

Need a new sword? Old one just not killing as fast as you want? Tired of buying new swords? Talk to smiths and merchants, people too! You never know who has what! Try it out: A new sword for killing!

What’s up with the bandits in Mountain pass? They never get bored! Loot waiting for you in: War with Bandit Mountain!

Do your friends not hang out with you because of you ego? Test your might in: Gladiators Ho!

Bored of all the monsters you run into? Looking for something besides money and treasure? Try taking a nap! Magic is everywhere in: Nightmare Rampage, get them shadows!

Everyone already steal everything from the floating island? I heard the desert prison is full of relics from the past! Lets go get some goodies in: Laws are covers for ancient treasure!

My friend told me that when he was fighting a monster, he missed with an extremely powerful spell. The spell hit the mountain foot right by him and blew open a hole to a lost cave! Lets’ check it out in: Dragon’s Sleep Heavily!

That Volcano looks kind of odd, it never stops! I wonder what’s making it continually spew lava!? Maybe it’s a dragon rich with treasure! We should investigate in: Red Dragons have Beautiful Treasure!

There’s one large chasm with a million vines splitting off. My friend told me he saw a glowing sword down there once, but when he started to get closer the shadows began to move! I wonder what it is in: How can the dead be alive if they’re dead!?

One of my friends heard that if you drink from a certain area of water on the beach island by the master city that you would stop aging! I’m kinda scared, what could it actually be in: Parasites are good?!

I heard that some necromancer had created his own city and that there are lost, limitless caves of knowledge in the mountains behind it! But, there are a lot of aggressive necromancers that don’t want to let people into their city! Maybe we can find another way to the caves in: Necromancers are greedy!

Ever had some treasure randomly stolen from you? Always wondered where those shady type people come from? Rumor has it that there is a secret society some where by the giant tree and they hoard the treasure stolen there! Feeling like taking on a group of master assassins to get back your ring? Lets go in: Secret Societies are goofy!

Why is there a wall in the back of the citadel city? Are they afraid of the waterfall attacking them? I heard there’s a cave that leads to a labyrinth inside the mountains behind the waterfall! Wanna check it out in: Treasure never rusts!

My friend said he went beyond the waterfall and actually found the ruins of an old city! He said he had to dig for awhile before he started finding anything, but he has the COOLEST looking cloak now! Even if it is ripped, lets go get something cool in: Dumpster Diving the Old City!

My friend is always looking for a cheap way to make a few coins. He owns a small sailing boat, and found an island by the prison desert! He said it was luscious with vegetation… and escapees from the desert prison! Guess they got money too! They’re willing to pay for a ride to a continent to get back in life in: Smuggling Escapees pays off… BIG!

Tired of never knowing what your fighting? Bad at guessing strategies and weakness’ of monsters? I heard that there’s a group of people that have made a monster encyclopedia! And they’re constantly updating it too! Maybe I could get a copy, or even help find new monsters in: Freaky Geeks who like to poke dead monster parts!

Extras of the game:

Of course no RPG would be complete without traditional Mini-Games.
For those who deeply love Mini-Games, there is an array that should be able to touch any and everybody. They are (so far) as follows:
Gambling - All gambling will be done on boat rides. Since it is not an instantanious thing, the people of this world have found the hull of boats to not only hold people and cargo, but giant gambling arenas too! Card games, Dices games, Pachinko-style games, Ect!
Card Games - This world isn't fit with electronics, so why not collect and play a traditional collectable simple "FF8" collectable card game? Who knows, if you win a big tournament or become so famous in life you might have a card created in your image!

Collectables - We know there are always collecting fans out there! myEPIC LIFE is full of sets of stuff to collect! From cute little dolls, to bug collections, all the way up to designer armor!

Dying / Game Over:

In my game, I don't believe in corpse hunting. So, you are given the option, in your personal profile that selects everything personal about your character from the way the walk to their fighting style, you can select your KO limit. This limit is set so that when you reach a certain number of Hit Points or if you choose, a certain percentage, that your character will be rendered unconscious. This of course will save your character from dying, but leave them vulnerable to theifing. Of course all travelers should take precautionary measure with valuables, it's to your own disgretion.

Phew, can't really think of anything else that really needs to be put down here. I guess any questions can be posted here, although I'd rather them sent via e-mail too. Rabitebite@aol.com
I'm in iraq right now, so the game is progressing slowly right now.

I'm hoping for a sponsor, criticism, ideas, and donations. Yeah, this game will charge money to play, but only because I think it's impossible to make a free mmorpg. The bandwidth and hardware maintence is more then enough to prove this. I don't even have to talk about personal time devoution or anything of the likes. This is for my pleasure, it's only a bonus that you can enjoy it too!

ALPHA Testing will be close friends and family only.
BETA will be a first come, first serve basis.
NO BETA HAS NOT BEEN SCHEDULED YET, SO DO NOT ASK TO BE APART OF BETA TESTING

This post is simply to inform, create ideas, and begin a small circulation of a hopefully upcoming, new wave of a new MMORPG style.

Well, you have no proof of this being a possiblitiy, and read the stick bout W.I.P games, mods can you put a padlock on this thread, a future W.i.P is really pointless, although good presentation.

Got anime?I do.

I dont like being very negative around these forums but...

First off MMORPGs around here dont go to well (MMORPG = FlameBait). Second, if you expect to get positive feedback you need screen shots. Third we dont like to see people that just joined a couple days ago with these huge projects. No Offense but this sounds like it will never be completed.

I think they need to change the name of this forum to "Work that has been worked on in progress." Im sick of all these Future projects.

MMORPG = Flamebait

Maybe because you got 13 year olds trying to make MMORPGs. no one seems to want to take the challege all the way, guess I'm the only one. This has been my dream for awhile, and I feel i have the feverance to go through with it. I did recently join, only because I recently actually bought Dark basic Pro and other software AFTER creating the building blocks of my game. I only scanned the forums looking only for quality of games, I didn't know this was a flamer network of people waiting for free quality games on anothers behalf.

So for now, ta - ta

I say go for it man. If you prove us all wrong then thats awesome . It would be great to have a MMORPG in DarkBasic.

Also your not the only one.

I dont see that one going anywhere though. Maybe he can prove us wrong too.

Good luck, and I hope you pull it off.

Well, we've got our selves a tricky one, not willing to start small and wait a year or two to post this stuff, well if he's still listing, I'd like to make an apology for being so harsh, it's just you shouldn't do that when've you just got the program and stuff, I've been planning an rpg and I don't plan to be close to finishing for a hell of a long time, let alone begin a W.i.P, you need to start small with snake or pong then start to work your way up the ladder by making text based rpgs and then 2d (theres a great looking tut in the 2D board) and then after awhile attempt and offline rpg then figure out how you'll go about connencting an MMORPG to the net, but don't start so big, keep developing the story of this RPG but, keep it to yourself and focus on smaller stuff, so sorry about a horribly crap welcome, but we can be quite nice and funny one get you get to know us.

Got anime?I do.

I feel insulted being compared to that. No matter my time, how ever recent I joined, I think that at least by the presentation I had briefly displayed was more than enough to show some dedication to my work or to actually prove that We've been compiling and re-creating many things that would bring up the level or modern trash RPGs. Once I get the chane, I will have to upload and atleast give you a show of conceptual artwork done by myself. Although no Leonardo Da Vinci, I have some skill.

BTW - Since I took down my post, anyone can requestion at my e-mail address "rabitebite@aol.com" I have it saved, as it was prepared, not just thrown on a whim.

@ Anime B L O O D

::Blinks.:: I think you really still misunderstand my friend & I. We're not your run of the mill day dreaming teenagers. Although still young in comparison, I'm twenty one. He's twenty Six.

Both of us have had years of work in this field in variousother projects. I used to program, smaller things for random illegal stuff. He, Torq, is actually a programming genius, and a technilogical wizard passing me by far. We're both new HERE, but not to this concept or world. He knows BASIC, and only really needs to learn the manipulation of the 3D commands.

I, myself, have been creating this storyline alone, for the past four years, only in the past five months have we actually brought everything together into something bigger and much grander. This is a big project, but us two, I try to assure you, are not scared of this and welcome big projects such as this. We're trying to give somehting to the community that has not been corrupted by timelines or corporate "this sells" BS. We're here to give a quality game to a quality community that deserves it. These are ideas that everyone thinks of, not just us.

Can I be a beta tester? (Reprise)

Anyway, I think your last post is STUPID, because it's not like you worked on the storyline for 4 years without stop, it was probobly something you made up in school or work for 2 minutes.

Mmmm. You'd like to think so. Because you'd rather think that it's nothing good rather than something worthwhile. While as it wasn't four years of non-stop work, it was actually, a spontaneous idea that was developed over a four year span.

I don't know about you, but I take pride in my work alongside dedication.

But, whatever, I erased the post due to my mistake of just typing and not reading. So keep flaming away. I'd really like to know what you're creating, besides belittling comments on peoples dreams.

Y'know what, I'm going to believe you. Probably what impressed me the most was that you told us you were 21 & 26 year olds and that you have a programming guru on your team, and I can tell by your post that you like to thoroughly think out design.

Keep updating this thread. Then it can get stickied and labeled as:

akira- good luck with your game. seeing as you're new to the community, you've missed the literally dozens of posts similar to this one. Always new users, always wanting to make an MMORPG of grand scale and scope. this forum actually has a lot of very helpful, encouraging users- but anyone who has been here for more than 2-3 months will agree that at a first glance, posts like this bring one thought: "not again!"

to combat this, we've adopted an un-official "only post when you actually have some content (aka screenshots, demos) to show" policy with this WIP forum. Without this policy, this forum becomes bogged down with WAY to many "i have a great idea for a game it'll be like x but with more y and even better z" posts that serve no purpose whatsoever.

you may be the exception to the rule, but your post is still questionable for this forum. after all, at your current pace, you probably won't have any screenshots, tech demos for several months (considering the scope of your project). had you waited until you had some media (preferrably in-game) to show, you would have received a much different response.

so in other words, nice game idea, poorly timed post.

RPG? Yes.
MRPG? Yes.
MORPG? Possible.
MMORPG? Unlikely.

I'm not saying this to disparrage, but unless you have the venture capital to secure the bandwidth required for a MMO, or the framework in place to support more than just a handful of users, I'd say the biggest reason you'll be flamed for this is the extra M.

Maybe you like the letter M. Beats me.

I'm just saying that the level of funding, and hardware required to pull off a Massively Multiplayer game is extraordinary. And if you had that sort of capital, you wouldn't be using DBPro, what with how broken it is, to make your game (just making an observation.)

But I wish you luck with your Multiplayer Online RPG in all seriousness.

@Oneka: same thing. People pay less attention based on the simple use of the "MMO" acronym. We all roll our collective eye and say, "uh huh." It's nearly impossible to take seriously.

You only just bought dbpro so your not gonna be capable of a mmorpg of this scale yet. A mmorpeg like this is a HUGE task for a team of experienced coders let alone one person working with dbpro.

Akira, I know a MMORPG is possible with DB, I saw one (German Forums). So I wish you luck.
But even if you don't succeed and abandon after a while. If you allready started coding, It's still good to improve your skills.

okay my opinion is that...
if you don't have the patience to wait until you have a demo or screens before posting then you won't have the massive amounts of patience it will require to make a project this big...

Well, I come back after leaving it sit for a night and the opinions are mixed.

Does anyone of these opinions matter? Nope.

What does matter? That someone actually has dedication and patience for something like this.

Although time constraints are a bit much, here in Iraq right now. Don't be scared.

although I do apologize for those who DON'T have patience for posting so early. I did not read the sticky nor know the community, I was simply posting the start of my project at the DBP stage. I apologize.

I just got off the phone with Torq and he says things are starting good. We're buying the other side programs for everything, I wonder if anyone can give me a list of additional plug-ins and such that have been made for DBPro and other sub programs that have been released in these message boards?

On another note, someone said something about making a sticky on how to make a MMORPG.
I guess, a poll, do you want that? A MMORPG outline guide?
I could offer step by step as I move along.
Although I'm not the programmer, I could offer planning for one.

Well isn't it strange how none of you think this projects going anywhere yet your still interested enough to post in the thread.

Quote: "Anyway, I think your last post is STUPID, because it's not like you worked on the storyline for 4 years without stop, it was probobly something you made up in school or work for 2 minutes."

@Zero Blitzt
If your so bothered about this being a crappy thread why don't you actually try and help instead of posting stuff like this.

@ akira
See, Peter H does have a point here, the descriptions of all the classes and races are really in depth and you've obviously spent a lot of time working on the game already, what may of been better though would have been to wait until you've maybe got a model or two of these different races to show us aswell, then the people that actually read threads could comment on it and the people that just come to look at the pictures could look at them.
It really would be great to see a MMORPG come out of this, just do some work on it, come back when you've got a screenie or two, and show everyone that you really can make this happen.

@play2kill

I understand, and have already apologized once. Before reading the sticky, I simply thought of this post as an announcment section. Seeing the section for announced games, I thought I would start my thread of my game from the begining, without knowing that people have had problems in the past with this.

I, personally, thought the time I've spent on my project so far was more then enough to start an announcment for my game. Spread the word, because I know I'm serious about making this. Everyone else seems to lack faith. So, once again, I apologize .

Until this game comes out, I will just make regular non-posted posts on my usb jump drive, so when the game does get to an acceptable level for everyone, I can post them all at once and share. Till then, ta-ta.

People have a tendancy to jump all over people who come in here posting about there MMORPG game because the people coming in don't know that we get these at least once a week. The poor people coming in have no idea.

Almost all the people who come in and make these posts are, in fact, younger people (no diss on anyone) who have a grand scale idea with lots of planning, and a big story line created. Most of them also have concept art to show as well. The reason why people get so upset when they see these posts is that these are the easy part of the game design (at least for an MMORPG).

Unfortunetly, others are right. An MMORPG takes an incredible amount of resources and will not start making money for at least the first year, meaning that it takes quite deep pockets to start one.

Don't think I am coming down on your project. I would love to see it become a reality (so then you can make a tutorial to help me lol). It's just that the people who normally make these posts all say they are dedicated and can do it. They all say they will prove us wrong. But sadly, none have yet.

I hope you all the luck you can get, and i really would like to see this happen. Check out one of Nuclear Glory's other services, Nuclear Networks. He has multiplayer command sets that work alongside his server rentals for DB http://www.nuclearglory.com/nn/.

Have fun!

whoa gothboy, chill out dude. It's not bad being young. It's just that when you're older, and you happen to have been doing this stuff since you were young (say.....12 years old?), you have a lot more experience.

Imagine you have two programmers who both started when they were 10 years old. They both are constantly active in programming. Right now one of them is 30 years old, and the other is 17. Most likely (unless the 17 year old is a cild protege), the 30 year old will have better developed programming skills.

I'm definitely not dissin young people, I'm 15

First off, no offense meant to young people, but like BEARCRAZY says, with time comes experience.

Secondly, thanks to all those who actually are starting to pass their initial assumptions and are moving on to a optimistic ideal. You'll never get anywhere without hope. ::Thumbs up.::

Thirdly, the project has already started with the inital GUI programming and the main shell to start the basic functions within the game.

Fourthly, regular updates. Hmm, like others have said some stuff is slow progressing and not really attractive to a lot for updating, unless you want to know silly stuff like, "Added message board functionality on the sign in screen. And linked Private Messages from the Message Board to act as a Message Pigeon in game."

But, that's up to everyone else, and I guess myself. What I can do, and will prepare for later on, is a detailed description of almost everything we're trying to accomplish in the game for everyone to enjoy.

Until then, this post WAS supposed to be getting closed down, which I would prefer so no more flaming would continue from non-believers.

Thank you, have a good day~

really you cant say that if a person started coding at 10 and was 30 now is good some people just suck and vice versa like meh I think iam good at coding becuase I learn it pretty fast and I like it so I have the patience to do it but I could have better experience then some 30+ guy or vice versa so it really depends on the person

Well yes, there's always the ignorant and the brilliant. But we're talking about two people who started out programming similarly, and comparing their coding skills is proportionate to their age.
