whilst a lil puzzled to why there is no, help forum where we can throw our code, models and such up and say "WHY IT NO WORK!" ... i'm gonna post here whilst i wait.

anyone seen that from the 3D forum?
well i did try to get it to work, now technically I can't find anything wrong - and Ciyanna also technically finds nothing wrong ... however DBpro believes the first type is a #10025 error declaration name '' not valid

i want someone to explain why
the name is quite valid - the internal data types should also be quite valid ... so what is baffling me is why it doesn't register the name

Hopefully when someone explains this alot more code i've developed can be customised to take into account this problem. Is quite frustrating thou

Indeed - it seems to alternate between name not valid and command out of place...

The only way around it seems to be things like :

DOH!!
Well i've found the problem ... guess what it was?
yup thats right, the types didn't like the comments inside them.

So i've gotta think of a new way to comment about the types without adding like several lines of text
guess i've also gotta get out of the habit of commenting my code all over the shop eh

for some reason it wasn't to thrilled at changing all of the constant values niether (bloody moody program)
so ho hum, i've got a little editing to do

what version of DBpro you useing because it compiled fine for me once i removed the :`// comments
well as fine as you can get considering i never actually declared the controls nor the constants.

ya know what i'd like to do, is to actually give a boolean value for things in structures - like

type keyboard
up as boolean = keycode(17)
endtype

and then when you do ->
if keyboard.up = 1 then move object 1,10.0
it is checking scancode 17 which is w
god i'm tired and its like only 6pm

I should be using 3.1 on all my machines, and it doesn't work with any of them...

It would also be nice if Lee & Mike posted here more often... and it would be nice to have access to their worklogs which Blitzers get for free (grrr....)

I suspect Lee and co. are too busy trying to get patch 4 out on time than to bother with us mere mortals
Early to mid Jan I hear.

We could also do with a Bug forum. Just in case patch 4 erm... hits the fan!

weird... i've still not installed DBpro yet, and actually now i'm staying in the UK for a spell no doubt gonna have to order it for here too.

So i'm using Demo 1.03, pretty sure it isn't 1.03a so i dunno

I've found some things work in older versions, like MD2 and MD3 importing - yet dont' in current versions.
Maybe just need to mix and match the DLL's

well anyways i know enough to continue again with working code this time ... just wish the constants would work for me

Vegeta: If you're going to get DBpro wait until you go back to the US (People in the UK have to pay 17.5% VAT).
