Looks like Op. Wolf is a sure fire prize at the mo. Maybe they'll be a load of late entries, Operation Invasion Evasion style.

my game is an Op. Wolf entry... (the "abandoned ragdoll game" threat)

so I guess that makes about 3-4 Op. Wolf entries confirmed so far? also, VanB also had a small WIP thread a while back for an Op.Wolf entry

Still working hard on mine, should get it out in time though, I have a week off work soon, and the engine is comming along nicely.

I think we need a sub-compo though, to help us name out op.wolf entries .

Yeah it looks like the entry list is a little short. With all those prizes they have available I should whip out a fast game if I can. Does any from these forums remember the last competition, and how many entries were submitted that time?

Hi there.

I am entering with a snake game. Although the main character isn't actually a snake.

Here is the title.

SilverfishX: Loping Vengeance

Nothing on wip yet. Might not be at all. Might not even have time to finish it.

Good Luck to all who are entering.
Cant wait to see all the entries. If you will pardon the expression.

I'm planning on entering my game, "Singed Earth: A Silent Spring"... Obviously a Scorched Earth remake...

I'd like to say "Good Luck" to all the people entering this competition and give a special thanks to The Game Creators for setting up and hosting the comp.

Gasp... Oct 31 isn't so distant anymore...

I updated everyone who provided links. I can't be bothered to put other people in. One of the list's main uses is to check out who you're going against. You know, check out the opposition. No point just knowing the name.

I am seriously considering entering a pen lid into the Operation Wolf category.

I mean, come on. Get some more entries in there. Jimmy could win it at this rate.

I planned on getting a lot done this weekend. I have. Just not on this game ! Space Corps 4 is looking great though...

Quote: "Andy, that looks awesome!! I can't wait to play that game. Does it play smooth?"

No, I learned from the last competition with Room War - graphics are everything. There is no gameplay in this and it runs at only 2fps max on any machine lower than the judging spec. However the graphics are dreamy, so it'll win...

OK it does have some gameplay, I think Scorched Earth games work better in a 2D format to be honest (see Worms 3D), but it'll play as well as any 3D game of the genre. It has a few unique gameplay elements which I think will make it stand out, assuming it gets finished in time that is.

If Nick and I can't finish this in time then we're thinking of making it a realtime Mech Warrior style game, so you will get to play this.

w00t, i found some snake code, and i made my own game called nibble it, of course the main bit of code is from what i got, but i edited a lot of it to make a start screen, and i also edited the graphicsof it a lot (which was coded btw) then i changed how it ran the death sequence etc. but can i enter it as a compo entry?> it's still at core someone elses code from teh code database. Also i cant compile to an exe i press f5 but that tests it, i press f4 to compile it and no exe pops up. is it because im using trial dbpro? an dif so can i send the game to someone else to compile for me i wanna win a copy of dbpro seeing as i cant afford it

You just push F5 and an exe is created in the directory where you saved the dbpro file.

Ahh yes i have solved the problem, turns out i wasnt creatign the exe int eh right folder, was going to temp folder etc. man this crazy dbpro, with its pres escape to break a test run, instead of good old f12. i'm constantly reachin for the f12 button and going why isnt it working! but yeah i got my exe compiled and ready for giving into teh competition if its allowed.

Public snake code should not be a problem. You've obviously have made some significant changes to its appearance. If you're turning in the source code for extra points, simply include where you got help from.

With any luck, there will be some prize swapping after the contest so that people get what they need. For example, if I won another copy of DBP, I've be glad to trade it out to someone who does need it.
