Whatever the reason, the fact is he did do great stuff in the last part of his life. Whether or not he was selfish before has nothing to do with his later accomplishments. Sometimes it takes a world-shattering event to better someone. But it's who you are, not how you got that way, that matters in the end.

RIP.

Anyway Reeve probably had some great years. Let me put it like this. To women he was a v. good looking guy and he starred in a whole bunch of Supermen films. He could have been very bad with the ladies, if you catch my drift, and probably had more than the odd pound in the bank. So, on the whole, there are less fortunate people out there.

superman, not men, there was only ever one superman, and that was christopher reeve. and as for maddox thing, lol.

that was what i was not particularly no to, i like christopher reeve, but maddox can say what he wants, i find it humerous, i don't follow all he says like its a bible anyway who'd have thought a horse would be the downfall of superman

I'm not sure how people can arrive at the notion that he was selfish when he was able-bodied because he did nothing for stem research. When you get paralyzed and your famous, it brings a lot of exposure to your condition and related conditions, and with that exposure a famous star can do wonders. It's like saying mother Terresa was a right selfish cow before she got into that nursing lark. A few actors actually have a concience, hell I remember the actor who played Darth Vader visiting my primary school to teach us road safety!.

On a lighter note, anyone avoiding Hellboy should check it out, it's pretty good, a lot funnier than the usual comic book hero movies. Strangely he makes for a more believable hero than you'd expect .

Hehe, he was more like a lanky in-bred Cornish farmer than the dark one . His voice was totally unsuitible for Darth, that's why they used that big guy (can't remember his name, he's been in countless movies though). He was a nice bloke from what I remember, probably did'nt pay much attention (I was about 5), my parents were more impressed that he visited than I was.

Haha. James Earl Jones of Conan and Exorcist II voiced Darth Vader.

that's the fella - thanks!

He only seems to do military style movies these days, he was pretty good in Gothica though. He did a great Poe recital in an episode of the Simpsons years ago - he's got one of those destinctive and powerful voices.

James Earl Jones.......I'm going to go make a game where you are James Earl jones and you have to hunt down Haydn Christensen .
They can never replace him with this new kid(Did you see what they did in the Return of the Jedi DVD?).

Maddox has to be anal because that's what gets him his traffic. It is for that reason we should not use him as a one-stop source for all moral belief--that being said I think Christopher Reeve was a great asset to society.

Heh, I liked that article Google linked to when Robin Williams came into his hospital room and said he was going to be his Proctologist.

Van - David Prowst (spelling?) is the Darth Vader dude for real and is the one you met. He isn't from Cornwall, he's from down here in Bristol! (which explains his dodgy accent) and he used to run a comics shop in town, but it closed down some years ago. Very nice chap. Great claim to fame too

Cheers,

Rich

Bit of a downer for the bloke who played him in the original. I mean it wasn't the green cross code man or the guy who did the voice. Got to feel sorry for him.... Plus Annie goes all rebelious and goes to the dark side of the force... by getting a messy hairstyle!!!! Aha. Hopefully the first thing he does is kill Jar Jar.

Cheers
