Does anyone know of a community for making games on the Texas Insturments TI-83, because I'm starting to get interested in making some games and all I have done right now is made a volume program for cylinders.

if games programming is what you want to do with it, wouldn't a SHARP wizard do much better? I have a OZ-770 and I'm very happy with it. Not to mention, it should be much cheaper.... if you can find one.

The TI-83 Plus (the one I use) can play games like a dumbded down gameboy, graph points, allows for variables, and you can script,etc...
That's why at places like Staples and stuff it costs $83.00.
It's very powerful.

Just use the guide in the book, oh wait you're not given those are you unless it's your own.
Why not just get a gameboy, so you can make your own portable games! That's why.

Anyone got any other sites? A question, when you go to programs, edit, new program is the language Assembly or BASIC?
I'm in the middle of making a volume finding app it finds the volume of a cylinder, square, and I hope to add spheres and cones.

Oh, okay.
I was wondering, how do I have a circle draw to the screen?
I tried drawcircle, but it didn't work.

The math:

Ummm... The math.
Now how do I do this?
Google...
Doesn't work.

Basicly, what you need is the math for the line command in DBP.
Then, you modify it so that it only draws the finial dot.
(Just read the thread.)
PI. Wonder how you use it...
Anyway,
Then you create some...
Wait, forget the line command.
Umm... I'm confused.

It's seems to be alot harder to script on the caluclator actually because there is no keyboard unless you purchase one and it's hard to see the letters and you have to press alpha and aplha lock and the small screen makes the amount of stuff you can put on a line harder and the display command thinks it has to diplay on one line and, alot more but hopefully it will get easier after awhile.
And yess DarkBASIC is easier.

Just push 2nd-alpha and you're typing in letters.

I know but typing is a pain because the letters are small and green, (and I have a green caluclator) and in alphabetical order when I'm used to the keyboard layout, and you can't use commas, and oh it's hell, I might buy the keyboard if I really get into it.

Who was it then was it really CMC, because you emailed me asking for DarkBASIC. So to draw circle into a program I have to go to the draw menu?

I was looking at some of the BASIC tutorials for the TI-83+ and they didn't work, I got Syntax error, I'm starting to thing that I need to download BASIC, but can someone confirm this, and also should every command be accesible or do I have to type some because there were commands in the tutorial that I could not get from the Program or Draw menu.

Did you check the math menu? There are a ton of menu's that have commands that you can use in your programs other than draw and prgm (such as Math, and...whatnot). And you don't type out any of the commands by hand. You always type em out through their commands in the program menu's (its their parameters that you type out by hand). Also, you don't have to download anything called basic. Never needed it when I programmed a TI-83+.

Anyway, hope you get into programming em, really helps during a boring math class.

Cheers,
Preston

[PS] Also, if you're interested, programming TI's is where I started programming, and my profile is still up at ticalc.org:

Yup, forgot to mention that. Catalog has everything in it. Great if you can't find that one function you need in the other menus.

Can anyone tell how much a link cable costs (the USB one for a computer) I can't find it at the staples website or at the Texas Instruments site.

The link cables cost about $15 or so. You can probably find em at Circuit City or Best Buy or what not.
