My thoughts are that if you're planning to give something to every kind of gamer, a nice dark corridor would be nice for a camper. Well, thats my 2c.

Yeah, they're all trotting horses, but one sounds like a guy walking, well, I didn't look very much. And there are some backround sounds of like a city area.

does the level editor suport jump pads or anything like that to quickly bounce the player up? because i've had some good quake3 style map ideas with multiple levels but they rely on jump pads to pop peaople up between floors.

I took a shot at the HUD aswell.

It's quite simple at the moment. But I can easly put in more detail if it does not suit the style. I have a few more things to add to it (Chat windows, menu bars etc) but if you can recommend something, that be great. I'll also try the main menu, loading window, and pause menu.

To bad you couldn't make the menu and all HUD displays access an external file to load the media and where to position everything, then you could have several different "Themes" of HUD designs that could be changed and selected by the user to whatever they prefer.
Just a lil two cent comment on my part

CPU

[edit] @Megaton - not trying to put you down or anything but having the backround of the loading screen is cool, but having to stare at it for long periods of time while the game is loading would make my eyes hurt, cool idea otherwise.

Well I thought you were making the main menu. What's the point of saying you're gona make it and then ask other people to do all the art for you? I was hoping to encourage you so maybe you could open up your art program and take a shot at creating some buttons and borders.

Or perhaps go to the Gallery page on the site, grab a few renders, and make some nifty backgrounds?
Give it a try.

Yeah, sorry I haven't replied for a few days, work and revision and stuff .

Megaton - Good UI, indeed DJ has made a UI as well, though I was going to get back to him about the scale of the things. I think we can fix it up easily so multiple UIs can be selectable. Don't anyone feel guilty, it's just a problem with lack of communication (probably my fault in the end ).

DJ - I will email you about your UI later (when I have time).

CPU - Yes, I got your email thanks . Just haven't got round to replying.

Evil Stick - The sounds, I'm not so sure about . Unless we do include horses then we probably won't use them . I haven't looked at the background noise, but I'm sure we can use it if it's just a generic background sound. And about the menu. For the main menu we need a FONT made, if you look in the fonts folder in the demo, you'll find a font image. That is how the fonts are stored at the moment. You will have to design a font for the menu, not just an image for each
menu item. The font characters should be max 15 pixels high, as we have to make everything fit in a 640x480 area on the screen. If you decide to make a font, just make a few characters and then post on here for C&C, don't go making a whole font set that for some reason we can't use, or looks completely out of context .

We will also need art for a background image for the menu window, text boxes (consider 15 pixels font height, text box should be slightly bigger, eg. 1 pixel either side, also consider the text box can be any length, so make a scalable middle bit, and maybe two images for each end if the image is anything but solid colour), a cursor image for the text box, left and right buttons (for numerical value changing), a button graphic (hovered and un-hovered). I'll post in more detail later maybe.

Grismald - Glock looks very grey :S, I can't see anything.

I'll keep looking for, stuff, but it gets boring
and for the bakround sounds, I haven't posted any , but there are ones like generic "white noise" talking, like for a city. And are you talking about me making fonts? Or just get one. I know where there are a TON of them for free (I think).

Sorry DBAlex, I saw your post and meant to, just there are so many people to answer to . That plasma rifle model (I couldn't load the image, but I think I know the one you mean) is one I made, and you can have it if you want, so long as it's for non-commercial use and you give me appropriate credit. I will post it here when I can get on my other computer and have time.

Stick - I meant the white noise sound . And with fonts, if you can find a free one that fits, then so long as you convert it to an image format DBPro can load (we need capital letters, lower case letters, numbers, and various punctuation marks), I can re-do the layout of the font bitmaps, but you need to make the fonts arranged in an equally spaced grid (look at the current font and you'll see what I mean).

Well, im glad to be back...ok whatever, Hamish, Ive redrawn a few of those weapons and I modeled and textured 2 of them. Just not sure when I can get them to you since I dont have internet at home right now. (im at a friends house...he doesnt know) But if you still want the Helgun and the Electricity Gun I textured them in Lithunwrap. Oh by the way, Ive finally mastered modeling and I will be dropping some screenshots later for the CFPS. Until then..cheeeeeeeeers!

Hi, I’m currently working on a level, thought I’d give it to you guys, you might find it useful as a test level or something

Its still far from completion, but I’m getting there.

It's basically the theme of area 51, i made it in deled, and here it is...

PICS

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y10/Treborguy/corridors.jpg

These are some futuristic corridors that I made, the walkways actually wond round a lot more, and overlap each other. You can drop down from them and hide underneath or go through the conveniently placed ventilation duct … which I need a new texture for.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y10/Treborguy/tunnel.jpg

There are two tunnels like the one shown above coming off of this room, one goes to a loo, another to the main control room.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y10/Treborguy/vent.jpg

A vent…

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y10/Treborguy/toilet.jpg

A toilet…. Err… a futuristic one?

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y10/Treborguy/computerroom.jpg

This is the main computer room, where research on the aliens goes on I guess.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y10/Treborguy/alienroom.jpg

This is the alien room, I think I’ll have tubes with aliens in, when I get round to it.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y10/Treborguy/office.jpg

These are the office cubicles, this is where the ventilation duct comes out. It’s a bit on the unfurnished side, but I thought you would to put tables and stuff with physics in here.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y10/Treborguy/shiproom.jpg

finally.. the space ship room, its big… I’m hoping to have a big old spaceship put in it, directly over the hole that drops down into the control room. Handy.

There are massive walkways with no railings, so that when you’re up there and you die… weeeeeee

sorry bout the length of the post, will update when it is finished
