developing 20 liners that actually do something cool is pretty difficult nerdy boy. you normally have a fairly large slab of code that does something nice and mabey even contains some external media over the 20 liner limit of 200k you then have to get everything as small as possible and keep it in a stable state. the 20 line challenge is not a beginners arena it's more of a scener thing in it's origins. it's meant to impress. it's meant to be a sort of 'wow, that's done in 20 lines?' thing. the problem with the 20 line challenge is quite simple. there are to many people posting crap password programs and the like. or posting a spinning cube that mabey changes colour every 90 degs of rotation or whatever.
I've seen posts like 'here is my first 20 liner' and you take a look and it's 10-15 lines of the most basic mince ever. It's about visual impact, not returning values to the user. every now and then you will se something that really impresses people using only a couple of thousand bytes of code. that's what it's all about.

oh it's not stopped, it just can't be constant.

The 20 line challenge was dead ages ago. I don't know why Rich doesn't just remove the board if there's not gonna be a winner any more.

Isn't it? Wasn't it? Marvellous!

I don't think that you actually need prizes for a challenge, just a winner would be nice, just to have your name mentioned in the newsletter as an acknowledgement of your 1337ness .

This happens all the time! How does one post about no more 20-line winners become another post about cheese? BTW, I like munster.

this line made me happy cause i alwasy talk about cheese, hell i was talking to my freind next to me about cheese a few minutes ago. But i don't like how you mentioned make it cheddar, if you like cheese you like all cheese, just like if you have an ugly child you still love it, no matter if he/she ever gets a girlfreind/boyfriend or not.
Hell i love cheese, all types of cheese, blue cheese, feta cheese, cheese whiz.... ummmmmm chizu.......

Well, I would say no. I love cheese plates, but there are several cheeses that I don't like.

Mine is called Beaufort. It's like emmental but with a stronger taste.
I've heard that in Corse (a isle under France) they eat a cheese covered with little (harmless) worms. Someone interrested?

My English is not so good I'm just French
