I have heard a few posts from people asking about the learn darkbasi book. Well here it is.



This image is from amazon.co.uk therefor i am assuming the book is to be released in the uk first.

It is gonna be released on the 28th of february(this year)

it say it a DARKBASIC guide will this be a uesful book for DARKBASIC pro uesers

do u you think it more uesful then the REFERENCE MANUAL????

It's 900 pages and yes it will cover both DB1 and DBP.

The reference manual is just a quick guide to tell you what each command does and the syntax. It does not however tell you how commands should be used in conjunction with each other to make good results. E.g. The do loop are explained well but it does not tell you how to produce bullet firing creatures for example!. My guess is that this book will do just that and explain game making techniques!.

the writers are on the forums (or used to be) because one of their exaples from the cd was an example of darkbasic.com a while back, and they told me about the book Sorry I don't remember more than that other than the demo was a pretty asteroid clone.

Looks a lot nicer than a certain other communities book effort. Not dissing anyone - I just think computer books in general are fairly badly illustrated and laid out, this looks nice though.
