Hi Friend ,

I am not really sure what you mean, But from what I have understood , I think you want to Import a .3DS ( a 3d Studio Model) into DarkBasic.
I think Darkbasic versions above versions 1.06 or so supports .3DS format. You need to export it from 3D Studio Max. But Sometimes as I and many people find, 3D Studio Models do not yet function properly in DB. Hence in that case (as I think you have asked), Converted it to .X format (DirectX format). This can be done using a converter.
If you have DarkBasic full version, search for a tool called DBCOnv.exe. If you dont find it, you download other plugins for 3D Studio to export in .X format (Search with a search Engine....I think there is something called WinConv3D or something).

Now 100cm = 1dbu
