I hope nobody uses that Turbosquid pack, I hope nobody pays the $9.95 for it either, what a fine collection of crap if ever I saw one!

If David T needs more weapons, he need only make a post in 3D Chat, lots of people will gladly make media for this game.

I'm very sure I've never used any weapons from Turbosquid... that said the DM2 weapons do bear a strikign resemblance to them.

As for progress on this - I'm afraid it's slow. I'm working on an uber cool project that hsould be done any day now! Watch for the next newsletter! (Hopefully)

23 days to go now

Should be very very cool.

Just wondering what screens you saw? The newsletter thing isn't a game, it's a plugin

Oh, the Lua plugin . That looks cool too. I was refering to your "Half Life style engine", are you still working on that as well?

'tis ok David, I know your pain - the pain of the FPS coder behind schedule . I think one of the problems is that a glitch will be hugely visible in FPS mode, like everything has to be that little bit neater and smoother - takes a lot of time to iron things out.

That's where the Lua plugin, and a certain physics plugin comes in

I'm going to recode, with better graphics, physics, scripts, and 3DWS. So... just waiting for them to come out now

Why are games being unstickied?

Video games…they take you places unreachable, unfeasible. Putting you in the book...putting you in the movie...putting you in a world, that before could only be imagined. expage.com/piratesmainpage.

Probably just Rich doing some tidying up.

Really a project section with blogg and suchlike would be better suited to projects like this, ohh the fun we could have - it's the very reason why I don't bother too much with WIP threads these days.

I updated to DBPro 5.9 today - will see if it ocmpiled later today (most likely not ).

If it does, I could do some fun with real physics.

Well, I *tried* to get it to work with 5.9.

It silently crashes, without a crash_on_ file whenever it hit a "set object to camera orientation" in the loading code. After commenting those out it died on the file

health = ents(e).health

I gave up then. There's no way that line is wrong, or can be changed

Don't have any in dbo format.

Although, thank for telling me, that's why some of my other projects that have them are blanking out... cheers

I'm afraid I've tried long and hard to get Merc 2 to run with U5.9 - and I'm afraid I've had no success

I think my best bet may be to recode, using all sorts of cool technologies I didn't know how to use before (and possibly physics too... )

Here's some constructive criticism

Bugs:

- When you die, sometimes it shows people floating in the sky
- When you press the +/= button it shows no weapon, but it still shoots.
- Game needs betting collision and running animation
- Sometimes AI gets stuck in the mountains
- Needs less particles
- Benelli knocks enemies back a bit too far.
- You can climb up 85-90 degree mountains
- You can walk through barrels
- Won't let me reload when caplocks are on
- Typo! "David T wondered why the lights where off"
- P-90 lets you shoot without reloading during caplocks glitch
- Can't see ammo when using scope
- Gorilla Munchkin can attack from far away (he doesn't have a gun!)

Suggestions:

- Better names, and more teams.
- Should have less particles on the blood effect
- Needs new people models!
- Choose between WSAD and up, down, left, right controls.

Things I like:

- Wonderful terrain texture
- Marvelous weapon models
- Nice hand animations/graphics
- Enemies fell on their back after getting shot with Benelli

Pretty good game overall. Just some improvements I think should happen and things I like

They all load fine here in the XM Mesh Viewer... (and dbpro of course).

Cheers, thanks alot! It is pretty cool isn't it. I'm so annoyed it's stoped worrking in U6 though. Although I suppose there's as ilver lining, some time soon I'm going to rewrite it all with physics.
