Tough!

There are no release dates yet. For first-hand news on them I'd advise you to join the FPSC newletter - newsletters are usually sent before Rich posts to the forums.

Ian, have there been any sent as yet? I signed up in the beginning, but haven't got anything as yet (I didn't expect to, just checking).

I've signed up multiple times for the TGC newsletter, never get that either

I can't wait till this thing is finnished...Not because I'll ever buy it, but because we can get back to bug squashing on DBP.

I'd be more interested in an RTS creator than an FPS creator. FPS games bore the pants off of me, unless they're multiplayer.

I'm sure 99% of them will be. Or someone will try and create a mmofps with its own currency and where people can build their own houses and can get married to elephants and do basically ANYTHING THEY WANT! but it First Person Perspective! And have a million people on there! At once! and you can design your own skins, and have, like, a t-shirt that says "i'm with stupid!" or "ascii art turns me on" or COOOOL things like that!
*this idea is copywrite ColdNews(tm) any attempt to release a FPS AT ALL, will result in hairloss. Your home is at risk if you do not keep up repayments on a morgage or any other loan secured on it. Subject to status, written details available on request*

EA stands, in this context, for Early Adopter. It is the first version of FPSC which will be released - download only, and no multiplayer. EA buyers will get the full release later on for just the cost of shipping.

Rick has already said that Late December or January is when TGC *may* release the EA version.

The "Early Adopter" version of FPSC does not have multiplayer, but the "full" version released some time next year probably will.

No, thats the Early Adopter version, the *full* (ie. bells and whistles, plus new features, proper boxed set etc.) will be a few months after.

Rick's own words:

Quote: "We were hoping to have FPS Creator EA ready before Christmas. It's now clear to us that there are just too many issues for us to check and double check to allow us to confidently release the title.

All functionality is now in place, we are simply working on tweaks and fixes. We then want some quality test time to check that we have caught all problems.

In the first week of January we will announce the official release date (which should be a day in January). It depends on tester feedback."

I may have interpretd that wrong - but it seems here that EA will be before Christmas, then the official release date Jan?

No it will probably be announced then, with the full thing appearing a few months afterwards.

Same here. But you never know I may buy it later on. Though it will depend on how long DBP stays in its current state as this will tell me how TGC intends on handling the updates of their products. Right now I just really want my DBP working correct.
