I have hearing about this 3D pipeline for some time. I had always assumed that it was the coding behind the 3D commands in DBPro. However I have read that it is actually a feature of certain 3D cards.
Technology moves at a faster rate than my brain does it seems! Can someone help me clear this up for us?

Will patch 4 make it's current 3D much faster or will it just add aditional 3D commands for those whose 3D cards will support them????????????

It may or may not add new commands, but it will speed up the processing of 3D graphics.

Good news everyone! I really am THAT good...

Patch 4 will not add any new commands (or at least very few).

Always appreciate an answer. I wish there was some way that we could check out any enhancements Lee will be making to DBPro in advance.

Ok the 3d pipeline is not card specific. It is how the software treats 3d objects at render. At present DB and DBpro handles rendering different 3d object types in diffent manners to acheive the same results if possible. The enhancments in DBP in patch 4 onwards is now DPb shuld treat/handle all 3d objects in a the same way with fewer commands to control any/all 3d objects etc this makes for massive speed increases as less command processing is involved despite the number of objects.

Watch the bouncing cursor - now in 3d
