Doesn't the maker of the game get 60% of the money and TGC get 40%?
They said something about this in a Thread a while ago.

We never gave final fixed percentages, but in essence yes this is what would happen.

I might, but then you have to ask yourself, will anybody be interested in your game? I mean, they would be easily able to copy your game by using the same editor.

I don't know about "easily", but this will make more sense when you get to actually use FPSC.

If you use just the stock textures / objects we provide then sure, someone could duplicate the game with a lot of patience, but then no-one is likely to buy a game made from just that anyway - it will at least need some custom models/textures/sounds/etc to be worth anything.

Aren't all FPS's basically the same with you shooting either aliens, undead/demons, robots, or humans? Turok was somewhat original with you shooting dinosaurs.

No, people shouldn't have to make thir own models. This program was designed for those of us with a)no modelling skills or experience, b)no free time to model or learn how to model, or c)a desire to make simple FPS without spending hours on end to make one. Now, if you want to make your own models, more power to you. Just don't force the rest of us to do the same.

Now is the winter of your discontent.

@Ominous
Cool your jets
He means that you have to make your own models
for any kind of commercial success. Not that they
should force you to model. After all FPSC comes
with lots of models for u to use.
(altouh i will make all my own models)

Sorry, perception is reality. Instead of using "should have to" in his sentence he could have said: "People need to realize that they need to use original content to sell a game." "Should have to" connotates (did I spell that right?) forcing everyone to do this, if they want to sell their game or not.

Now is the winter of your discontent.

Ideally some might like to have all their models supplied with a product like FPSC. But that will limit the game you can make and scenarios you can set-up, unless you are prepared to do some additional work.

e.g. if you want an enemy to shoot you from a roof top and you are directly below he really needs to have an animation where he points downwards while shooting, If you are below he needs to point upwards, otherwsie you are above and he shoots at the wall in front of him....while you look down at him and kill him.......he may point a weapon straight forwards at a wall but his bullets fly off at a tanget from where hes looking in an upwards direction.....not very inspriring.

Having models to cover a lot of differing game options, of course is asking a lot of any product and you wont find many engines at this price range giving you what FPSC does. There seems to be a fair number supplied and I guess more model packs will come along later that you could purchase if you wish.

Otherwise you just have a choice use whats available and make your game accordingly or if you want to make your game more original you may have to find another option and that might include having to model or animate something

Not sure if this has been asked, forgive me if it has, i can't be arsed to search, is there a set amount of animations you can assign to an enemy?

Hey if it has been answered at least i didn't create a new thread to ask it!

I dont think that has been asked and i would like
to know the answer to that question to.
Good one "nvc450"

Edit : The animations used is probably all defined in
the script so you could probably have as many animations
as you want. Altouh i could be wrong.

Animation keyframes are defined in the script files. There is no imposed limit.

Been done - E.T.

BTW - Atari supposedly paid $25 MILLION for the rights back in 1982. And you thought games were expensive *now*

That's because I was only 1 at the time and I couldn't buy a copy. That's why they were one copy short of meeting their sales goal. Which was one I believe.

ya... I mean a game. like an xbox, ps2, game cube, or pc game. Not how somebody paid somebody some money and then that first somebody got the rights back from somebody to do something with something. Did I just say what I think I just said one sentence ago?
