whenever I try to build a game with full detail light mapping with shadows, it freezes near the end, and when I press crtl+alt+delete, it says that 100% of both my processors is being used. how long does this normally take? i've waited a long time.

Light mapping cant take a extreamly long time, i compiled a level with only 10 or so lights the level had about 10 rooms around 5 x 5 cells and it took around 30 mins, you could try making a single room with one light and compile it, then add in 4 more light's and recompile it, just to see how long it take's.

Best thing to do is make your level fully then go back and add your lights last for your final compile. If your hard drive light is still lit you know it's still going at it.
