Personally I learnt by looking at the examples, searching through the forums and download other peoples code / projects. This move is mainly to stop newbies who are not prepared to even try and start asking "Ok, how do I make levels in DBP".

NOBODY has a forum name as stupid as Darth Shader. I do.

well its a good way to force them to learn the basics first really ... i mean if i'd jumped into BSP from day one, by the end of the 2nd week with almost no hint closers i'd of thought "fudge this" and never touched DB again.

you notice how many newbies come in with the grand ideas... and poof never heard from again.
or we don't answer thier questions in a way they can understand.

by making it aparent that there is a level of learning you need to do before you do something AS complex as say BSP or alike ... this will encourage the newbies to learn the basics.

kinda like Schools really, you don't get thrown into Degree Level Mathematics before you've atleast done GCSE - it just doesn't work like that.

Agreed, they need to learn to start small. If ya want a good luagh, goto the Team Requests forum. It can get sad how some of these guy just want someone else to build the game for them.

This is Truth!
This is my Belief!
...at least for now.
