Please don't speak about what a Christian is, when you always seem to step on your own words. Some believe that Catholics aren't Christian, and some do, okay? You really don't know much about this hehehe.

@ Eric - Aw isn't that cute, yet another cheerleader for the hedonists. IMHO people that make fun of religion do so because they don't want to be held responsible after they die for their actions on earth. Well guess what, you will still be held responsible--- Christian or not.

was i one of those missionaries?

some american soldier killed an iraqi girl, not nessecerily on purpose, does that give me a reason to be intolerant of all americans, even pasafists?

no, because (and i owe this 100% to these forums) from being here i've seen americans for what they really are, not what the media shows. I've found that some americans are wonderful people, you, cattlerustler, jimmy, and (although we have political differences) mouse are all great, do i think of you as iraqi money whores? no.

edit: roffle at killswitch, stop you're making me laugh

Annd... what does this have to do with Christianity?

Quote: "I'm anti-abortion, and anti-euthanasia for example. "

Just out of curiousity, if you're atheist, why do you care about abortion or euthanasia? If you're atheist, you believe you go nowhere after you die--- so sad. But if there really is meaning to life, and we are here for a reason, which religious people believe, why would someone like you care about death? Actually this question goes out to all atheists. Why would you care if people die? I'm not trying to be a jerk--- I just want to know. If there's nothing after life, then what's the point?

No, I make fun of religion cause I can see past this BS storys and anecdotes. I'll take full responsibility for anything I say and anything I do. And if this invisible man shall smite me for it, fine. But i'll tell you one thing, He ain't done it yet. Whats he waiting for? Does he not wanna reveal is existence? He hides all these years, never to be seen, ruling us... I'm sorry, its just to unreal to be belive.

This has WHAT? to do with game development? Granted its in the 'general' section...it should still be at least remotely related to games or development.

So, unless you are going to make "Jesus's Bible Blaster" or "Smite From Above" then I see no point in continuing this pointless conversation on this forum.

Do you think you're the first in the world to ask this?

In the last book of the Bible, Revelations, it talks about Jesus second coming. Nobody in the entire world knows when it will happen, but it will. If it's in our lifetime (which I hope is), then you will see for yourself what's real and what's the result of thousands of years of human lies.

Actually the sad thing is I probably know more than most Christians about Christianity in its two main forms: Catholic and basic non-Catholic. Thats actually how I came to be a non-believer. I learned about the religion and decided it was crap. And I mean I really learned it. Going to bible study every week does not really count as really learning it.

And in the most simplistic definition, Catholics are Christians period. I dont care if some idiot doesnt think Catholics are Christians because of this or that. If you believe Jesus is the son of God than you are a Christian. It doesnt matter what other beliefs you have or what other rituals you perform. Actually if you look up the definition of Catholic in the dictionary, it mentions Christian.

So you see you are the one who knows nothing about this.

No, but I do think he would let his presence known every once in a while. Keep up us on our feet, maybe a actual proven smiting or 2 would really help the proof of him existing. But, you do make a valid point with that last section. IF there is a god, he could be doing that. But for more 2000 years? Whens he gonna call it quits?

But you said it will happen. Your saying something will happen without having valid proof of it being able to happen. I can write down anything will happen, I'll write down this right now:

I am going to be killed tomorrow by a candy truck.

But will it happen? We won't know till it happens, or dosen't happen.

I haven't seen any of these prophets. Miracles, where and what? Of course I reject it, cause it is a load of piffle. How can you prove someone is a prophet of god, or something is a miracle he has done without him coming out saying "ok guys, I did that..."?

Look Eric, some people have faith in things they can't see. Others, like you, don't. Don't ask someone who is practicing faith for proof, because they don't have it. They've opened their heart to something that many people have a hard time accepting and if you can't, then so be it.

@ Eric - There's really no point in debating with you. If you've read all of my posts, you'll see that I have faith that God has written the Bible. If God created the planet, the creatures, and everything around us, then it is quite possible that he could just end it all with one fell swoop. But he doesn't.

I'm not God, don't ask me why he doesn't do such-n-such according to your own meager timeline.

Actually in Deuteronomy (a book in the Bible for the non-obvious), it explicitly outlines how you can tell if a prophet is legit.

For one thing--- if a prophet claims something will happen, and it doesn't, even ONE time, then he is a false prophet.

I dated a 7th Day Adventist for a few years and I was troubled by their modern prophet.

Believe it or not, if you pray and ask to see some sign of God, he will let himself be shown to you in one form or another. I was shown God through a sick child that we adopted many years ago.

Remember that your time is not God's time. You have to be patient with your requests, as God doesn't just do what we tell him to do.

Come on, let's not get childish, here.

One day if you're scare for your life, say you're about to be eaten by a giant anaconda, or someone is in your school shooting up the place, just say a quick prayer to Jesus to help you out. I promise it will make you feel less afraid

Anyone can do this, even people who are murderers and the vilest people on earth. Don't think you can't talk to God if you're not a Christian.

Just remember when he helps you out, don't forget to thank him.

Quote: "If you're atheist, you believe you go nowhere after you die--- so sad."

Why is it sad? I live, and so far life has been quite interesting. To quote good ole Monty Pythons: "You come from nothing, you go back to nothing, what have you lost? Nothing!". It's sad for people who never had the chance or opportunities to make their lives interesting.

Quote: "But if there really is meaning to life, and we are here for a reason, which religious people believe, why would someone like you care about death?"

I think the big "meaning of life" question is more about life general.

Quote: "Actually this question goes out to all atheists. Why would you care if people die? I'm not trying to be a jerk--- I just want to know. If there's nothing after life, then what's the point?"

Well, this question more or less implies that people who believe in their afterlife live for just that after life.
Everyone has the right to live. Everyone should be given the possibility enjoy their lives.
After all, it's short enough.
