Hope some ppl still remember me
Yayy, finally feel its worthy for a WIP thread

For those who werent keeping up on this, What DreamCreator is a Full pledge RPG Maker. I am trying to CLONE rpg maker 2 for the ps2 into DBPro, with a few extra function of cus

Screenshots speaks a thousand words, so here they r. (for those that been to my forum, there are only a few more new shots, most of them u guys seen already )

Tile/Event Module

The 2 shots above r the same map, but after like 1 min of tweakin, u now have a stair way!

Trying the new terrian (still a bit buggy)

DataBase Module

Now for In gameplay shots!

For scripting , cant really show u a screenshot since it work internally. But i will post a simple script and see if u get it.

Yup, thats all of it. I WAS planning to show the cutscene editor and Battle Engine, but i am re-working on those, so no point showing it. If u guys know how to work RM2K, chances r, you wont have much trouble will DC.

And for those who ask about Vatica, that project is being work along side with DC. Its being made in DC now, i can test DC AND make a game. 2 bird with 1 stone! Scoreee! hhehe

#Please note though, I am not going to update for a while, i will still be around, just not update since April is the month of UBER test. No time to work on it till 26th ><, and even after 26th, (for those who already knew hehe), i got 4 days till co-op starts and leave for the US. SOOoooooo, thus explain the lack of update in advance . however, i HAVE NOT given this project up. Dun take this the wrong way, this is a situation out of my control

So..vola! post any comment or question if u want!

I have NOT abandon these ^......^_^V hehe

I just use....massive sprites.....MASSIVE sprites lol I used sprite number up to 10000000 (not kidding lol) but i dun use ALL the sprites, just the one that shows. It wont slow down anything and the system optimize the sprite automatically, so dun let the num scare u lol

@Mr Underhill
I use a ATB. Mite change to a turn-based now and release the ATB nxt release. Cus i REALLLY want to finish this...just time is against me....

Looks like a great tool !

Does every User build his own ruleset ? Or do you make one in your engine ?

Love the clean GUI.

And textures!

I was toying with the idea of making something like this also. I even made a dozen "rpg" walls you can tile and make a level. You can have a look if you ever want to.

Anyway, great looking app. But please, don't make it turn based.
I swear I'll hurt you.

Good luck

^haha...thxx! the nxt update will probably show the battle engine, cutscene....but...those will be after my exams

Quote: "Does every User build his own ruleset ? Or do you make one in your engine ?"
ruleset? not sure what u mean ^__^". Its fully customizable, and if something doesnt suit ur need, the actionscripts will back it up =]. Just like RM2k, i seen some creative way to use scripts to back up the limited feature in it. hope...that asnwer ur question ^__^"

Sure, I remember you.. hard to forget that avatar

When someone hears about a RPG maker, thinking that someone actually would pull it of is hard. But seeing what you've accomplished already.. I'm getting very comfident that you can drive it all the way through.

Keep up the great work! and I'll be sure to keep visiting this thread even though you will not be able to work on it for a while.

lol if this is anything like RM2k then i can see me using this alot and possibly a hefty forum need for this, if all runs well (which i hope it does) then i can see some pretty sweet threads for this on "CBS" and "CMS", does it work on the same type of rules as RM2K as in like common events and such, hehe i made a pretty sweet common event on rm2k you had control of the weather (ripped a weather system tutorial) and depending on the area you where in (ie forest/sea/desert etc) would increase/decrease you stats, made thing more tactical- ie if you where in the desert you could made it snow and then your stats would increase against the desert type monsters- i think i called him a green mage, lol all this talk of rm2k makes me wanna get out the old program lol i could use that pretty well- unlike darkbasic lol

that stuff u r talking about will be in scripting form in DC. The switches and variables are already implemented way bak in Vatica. Those who still have the demo, u can see the switch in action with that little 'quest'. The Zones in RM2k will be known as "controlZones" in DC. It can tell the user which area he/she is in...and assign appropriate monster for them to encounter. What you just talked about can easily be done in DC. (i just tried ^__^) hehe, CMS and CBS is possible too if the logic is correct. ^^

This looks really good, but you might want to change the name - the team over at www.firebell.org made an RPG maker, which I think was called 'DreamCreate', a few years ago. Although a completed version was released, it was later taken offline and all support for it was discontinued, probably due to the fact that most people didn't have a clue how to use it and I guess they were fed up with all the questions.

This is looking really great! The landscape looks great, the main character looks great, the text bubbles look great... all great, great, great!!

One thing though, will you keep the main character with acurate preportions and everyone else cartoony?? There's nothing wrong with it, it just seems kind of odd and disorienting.

Tight! Havenb't seen this good of an app in a long time! Is the script in a built-in editor? or do we use .txt files?

The style is up to you. I just got lazy and use a cartoony and accurtae proportion model in the same map. You can make it cartoony or proportion or both if u want, just a matter of modeling lol

@Nitrixik Studios
I am going to make a bulit-in editor, so far its just editing using notepad.

@keemo
Yea the char DOES look like lego cus those are beta models. Yes you can make your own character from other package as long as you scale it rite, no point of making a 30 feet giant when the entire world is less than 5 feet LOL.
As for online play, thats not possible. Too much work invovled lol.

@DBMAD
lol, i do not need help as of now, but will keep it in mind.

@Big Man
Its not. I made it with its own style, its will be as simple as possible since its a tile based editor. There will be scripting and stuff.

Current Progress:
Well....just got bak awhile ago, so i guess i will continue what i left off. A Land module is currently in development, it will allow the user to create "WORLD MAPS" or any outdoor scenes. I will post a screenshot in the next couple of days...lol yupppp
