Does anyone know of a reason why just adding this command, COLOR BACKDROP increases my .exe size by 700k.

I know what it is used for and why, but it should not increase the .exe like that.

Because it initialises the entire 3D subsystem and consequently copies the whole 3D environment DLL into your EXE.
