Hi all, I have another question (I LOVE the DBPro software, I just wish there was equivelent documentation!).

Anyway, I went to use the "save image" command, and got a runtime error saying the command was now obsolete(shouldn't that be a compile error?). I haven't been able to find any way to tell what it's been replaced by, and as I'm just beginning to learn the system (with no real documentation), I don't know any way to do it myself. Is there a reference somewhere that shows how to do "obsoleted" stuff in DBPro? For that matter, is there a reference somewhere that shows what the differences are? I'm still not entirely sure how we're supposed to learn to use DBPro when all of the tutorials I can find are DB only .

Anyway, sorry for rambling. Any help here would REALLY be appreciated!

Thanks!

Jai

Do you mean they removed the "save image" command in DBPro and didn't replace it with ANYTHING? So DB users can do things DBPro users can't? What am I missing?

Also, I would still like to find some reference that showed the differences between db and dbpro so that when I'm looking at source, going through tutorials, reading ref material, etc, I can figure out how to convert.

Thanks again!

there is a function (i think on the page 2 here) when someone else asked that i made within Professional itself.
it exports 24bit Bitmaps but be sure to check it out as it can be edited to use export to any format you choose

I just found a reference to that particular issue on page 17 of the DarkBASIC Professional User MANUAL (sic). It says:

-------------------------------------------------------
Two IMAGE commands have been removed due to redundency:

ROTATE IMAGE
SAVE MAGE
-------------------------------------------------------

If they've been removed due to redundency, what are the redundant commands?

Thanks for any help!

"What am I missing?" err, you're missing the ability to save images

"If they've been removed due to redundency, what are the redundant commands?"

Rotate image is replaced with rotate sprite, save image is gone because images are no longer handled in the same way. But as Guy has posted, there are various DLLs out there that will save out images if you really need it.

Cheers,

Rich

No, actually I DIDN'T really need it (but thanks for the pointers everyone in case I ever do!). I just ran into a problem with the tutorials because it was missing is why I was looking into it. It also seemed strange that it was missing and I couldn't find a replacement for it. Do I correctly understand that the things that have been removed are going to eventually be replaced with other ways of performing those functions (I had read somewhere that they removed to provide better future support, or something like that).

Thanks for the info!
