Have any of you seen the Triumph insult dog interviews on one of the lines to Episode II ? Just watched it in class today since it was the last day in that class and I get out tomorrow. Was absolutely hillarious!

As for EP III, I for one will not be seing it. Episode I was just bad, II was plain out horrible, and III...can't deal with what that will be. You just don't try to bring back classics, its the worst thing to do.

They're not bringing back the classics, they're inserting more of the story and with better technology.

As far as I'm concerned, I and II had better acting and hotter women. Sure, the older ones are great, but the new ones have the same old star wars feel, but are more visually stimulating and have more lightsabers.

I mean, what do you people expect? The movies, as they are, are well done and better than most, if not all, of the action movies made in the past 6 years. You can't compare them to the 'classics.' Star Wars is Star Wars. It's all... very much... just Star Wars.

"

don't say that...i just got back from watching Episode III...

It redeemed Episode I and II...now i see what he was doing with those two...they seemed stupid (i ridiculed them myself) but they were just the boring part of the story...a set up for Episode III...

They show everything all cutesy and idilic, then in episode III you get to see everything go wrong.

after watching that movie, i actualy like episode I and II...george lucas pulled of a awesome movie there.

the whole movie is a lot darker then the other ones and it's pretty darn sad. (with Darth Vader going to the darkside and ruining his life)

anyway i suggest you see it before bashing it guys...it made me like star wars again

Got back from it a few hours ago. It is indeed a pretty decent movie, much darker than the first two.

One scene in the movie with Darth Vader bugged me though, in my mind it sort of made him look a little more wimpy than we all remember him from the classics.. The scene i'm talking about is..

It just doesnt seem fitting.

Just saw it...

I enjoyed everything about the movie except for the actors. The story, the effects, the fights (oh man the Obi Wan vs Anakin was a great fight). The actors and the way they did the dialog was the only part that disapointed me.

I'd say see it.

Why? For games I can understand.. they go down in price. But films at the cinema? It's not like it'll get cheaper to see in those few weeks! Besides, there's sod all else to see right now.. :-\

I dont think Ive ever left the cinema feeling uneasy before, but Ep. III did it. Its sad to see what Anakin/Vader does to himself and others for power, but power he only wants to save who he loves. It definitely did it for me, though. The Phantom Menace, I thought, was awful (The kid who played Anakin was dreadful, worst presentation of dialog, ever) but ATOC wasn't too bad. I have to agree that the acting in the newer movies isn't quite up to par with the old movies:
SPOILER

But the sword fighting in the three newer films (especially EPIII) more than make up for it. And Ewan McGregor nailed the end "You were the chosen one!" All in all it was worth my 2 hour wait in line, my $12, and about 6 years of anticipation.

I almost drooled watching the introduction scenes

I have had a bit of disappointment from it though, purely because, there aren't going to be any more star wars films. I just hope the continue it on with some nice movie versions of the various book series that continue on the story line (particularly the Thrawn books, i quite like him)

overall i thought it was bloody good

but yeah, it did seem a bit weird coming from Darth Vader

Yes, well the whole point was for you to feel sad at those points. Overall, I thought the action sequences were excellent and the dialogue was as lame as it gets.

There were some horrible lines that couldn't help but make me laugh, although this one takes the cake (and it only appeared about 10 minutes in!):

Yes I am finally seeing it tommorow (Saturday) at the ODEON. I booked the Superior ( Or red seats) and If you have ever been to Odeon then you will know that the red seats are in good places and slightly higher above the cheaper seats so you will always get a good seat no matter where you get put

It was altogether a good movie. Some of the dialogue was really painful, and Natalie Portman's acting left something to be desired (specifically, more than one expression), but altogether, quite good.

Spoilers:

Quote: "(oh man the Obi Wan vs Anakin was a great fight)."

Damn straight. I was a bit disappointed with Obi-Wan's acting in general, but in that one scene I think he actually pulled it off quite well, and it went well with the excellent fighting.

I also liked the one big space battle, but I wish there would have been more. And the dialogue was bad all the way through it. Anakin's "missiles!" was just painful-- yeah dork, you're in the middle of a vast firefight, people might shoot them at you! Oh well.

A damn sight better than the first two

lol, yeah

Natalie Portman's acting is always sad

and this movie was the first one to be rated PG-13 so i think it was aimed more at older people

Actually, i quite like Natalie Portman's acting in these movies much more than most of her other movies, especially this one.

Even though i found her line, "You're breaking my heart" to be kind of cheesey, the expression she gave for it i think made up for it.

I too agree that they should continue on with the books...

Well, that's about all i can remember to say for now.

PG-13 is aiming it at an older audience? Since when was a 13 year old older? By the way, I haven't seen it yet, just that line confused me

I'll just put it this way, I grew up watching the original films and they were just pure fun. That would apply to Episode I and II also (and I imagine if I was younger I wouldn't realize how incredibly forced the acting is either). However the content of the RotS would have been very disturbing to me at 7 or 8 years old.

I saw the film at 11:30pm last night.

I'd say it was a good film but slightly marred by:

1. Portman's atrocious acting (not helped by the terrible Anakin/Padme dialogue);

2. the bit where Obi Wan is looking at the holographic display of what Anakin had done and then said "I can't watch any more" - that was badly acted and far far too unsubtle;

3. generally, I wasn't entirely persuaded that Anakin had gone wholly bad or indeed his reasons for joining the dark side. He still had more "sulky adolescent" about him than "consumate evil".

Merix the whole theatre I was at burst into laughter at that part, not something you'd expect from Vader.

I was suprised by the movie it actuall made up for Episode 2, I like Episode 1 because of Qui-Gon and Maul but 2 lets not go there...

It's wrong to go through life without ever watching Star Wars, I mean, there are heaps of Star Wars references through so many other movies, TV shows, books, etc. Imagine seeing one of the millions of times the "I am your father" line has been parodied and just simply not getting it because you hadn't seen The Empire Strikes Back? It would be weird.

Just saw the movie today. I think its the best one yet, i definately like the darker more "evil" style of it, and its a good transition film from the new to the old films. I definitely thought:

The funniest part was when:

It was pretty sad when:

Something ive never got from the movie where Darth Vader kills Obi Wan, is that Obi Wan simply dissapears, like he never was there, lol. But then in these films, the lightsabers cut of limbs and heads and stuff.
All the lightsaber fights were cool, but the Padme/Annikan romance scenes were the worst acting ive ever seen, lol. Also:

It was kinda depressing when:

In the scene where:

It annoyed me when:

Yeah, so those are my comments on it

EDIT: Also i never knew:

Well yesterday was just god awful wierd. I woke up today with a wicked headache, sore throat, a stomechache, and memory loss...

I came back yesterday at about 1am after leaving for the theater at 3am.

I remember seeing a $hit load of movies including Star Wars (Was pretty neat...my second Star Wars film), Hitchhiker's GTHG (F****ing boring as hell and not even a bit funny) , Unleashed (Sweet holy crap. THAT movie was the source of my headache), Kung fu hussle (No comment: Go see it), and some other crap...(fell asleep, sorry)

Star Wars was definatly the one that stuck. Few things I found wierd.

(a) he wanted to believe...he was already falling under Sidiouses influence

(b) by then he had succumbed to the dark side and did not have any option, he hadn`t just lost his wife, but his "soul" as part of the bargain, THATS why he screamed NOOOOO!, he hadn`t just lost one thing...he had lost and thrown away everything , it`s like the classical Hero who gives his life to save the day, and fails anyway to die a pitifull death...how painfull is that?
