Cannot Grab Image Due To An Illegal area at line 27.

That is the error I am getting. I am using the source from dbheaven.com for tutorial #14 and I have the "character.bmp" file that I need for it.

Line 27:

The full loop is:

Any ideas what is wrong?? Any help would be greatly appriciated as I am learning how to use DB. Thanks.

P.S. Sorry for posting in two boards but I really want to get this worked out fast because I am eager to learn more

11 x 102 - yeah I'd say it could be. Or it's having trouble grabbing from an "offscreen" location. Got to be one of the two

Thanks, I'm pretty sure it is just the powers of two bug because I was grabbing the image off a bitmap. I'm going to try it using the powers of 2 later tonight when i get home.

Okay, I made my bitmap 1024X64 and it still give me the error:

Runtime Error 1003 Could Not Load Bitmap at Line 25

I am absolutely postive I have the bitmap in the same directory and the source code file. Is there something i need to do in DBPRO that is different than the original DB?

The dimensions are fine - have you created a proper project for this? (and not tried to simply edit a source file on it's own) and have the file in the project directory? Also what file format is the image? You're welcome to email me the image (and code) for me to have a look at if you want - rich@darkbasic.com

Cheers,

Rich
