I am thinking of writing a program that would make a realistic 3d model of your face by taking a photo of the front view of your face, then a side profile of your face. My program will then export your face model to your desktop as a .obj file. This program will also be able to make a 3d model of any character face that you draw and save as a bitmap in another program such as paintbrush. My question is do you think this program will sell? I refuse to program it if it will not sell.

If you can do same in DB, I'd be very impressed.

I love it when a plan comes together

I can do the same thing in Dark Basic, the only thing is that it will not have all of those other features such as the ability to animate the model. By the way, what type of file formats does this program exports to?

you'd have to be one bloody outstanding programmer to pull something like that off within DarkBasic - because it doesn't really have the precision required, and alot of the mathematics involved is just far too much for the ageing language to handle.

personally i'd be skeptical about someone making one within Professionl, althought it'd be likely - you still don't really have the viable data structures and developing them just for such a project would be very time consuming on something which i don't think would be the greatest seller to be honest.

that reminds of a friend, i told him i could set his scanner and printer up as if it was a photocopier ... he said great

i came back a week later to find his scanner has a huge crack down the center. asked him what happened...
he tried to scan his ass - i couldn't help but laugh at him
