I couldn't find this product mentioned anywhere upon doing a forum search, but its called ppModeler. It's free and has a simple interface. It imports 3ds and exports x. I've been playing with the beta and it feel good. looks like a perfect companion to FPSC. Here's the website.
download the 2005 beta. It has bone animation.

Cool! although the tut doesn't explain the veiws at the start well(I want to model badly)

If You want a free modeler, use gmax or anim8or they are easyer to work whith. I Myself use CINEMA 4D if You can afford C4D byt it!!
gmax have one x-export plugin if You are lucky maybe You can find it on the net...

I just tried ppModeler out yesterday. I'm not very good at using modeling programs but it seems easy to use and the exported .x files seem to import into DBPro nicely. Plus of course it's free, I'm going to try it when making my next models to see how it goes.

this modeler is not free or cheap but is very usefull 3d max discreet i have it but dont understand it can any1 help me?

I've tried alot of modelling progs, but I've always ended up sticking with Wings 3D. Excellent and free program.

One thing to look forward to:

I use trueSpace6.6 and Max,Blender I have and Wings too I use what I know until I know better...


Wings and Blender are free...Thats a great deal...
