It would seem to me a beta tool designed to work only with an outdated compiler has a few issues? Is TGC ever going to try to get it current? At least they should've tried to make it work with either GNU C++ or Visual Studio C++ Express(in beta but will be under $100 from ms at release) for lower consumer cost. It's hard to even get a copy of C++ 6.0 these days. I don't currently have C++ but I'm looking into getting it and will likely get .NET '05 next year. This will be then current tool.

I would love to be able to have a decent engine at that time and don't want to learn 1000+ new commands from another engine. My current project have been put off long enough.

My issue is this. Will TGC ever support a current development enviroment with the SDK?

You can always use the Dark Game SDK with Visual C++ .NET 2003. That is the latest Microsoft compiler as far as I'm aware. Isn't the 2005 one still in beta? Sure we can support it when it is released but maybe a bit too early to do so right now.

But I've been told several times the support for the .Net edition of C++ is buggy at best. Is this being worked on?

Dark SDK doesn't work with .Net - it works fine with C/C++, ie the C/C++ part of Visual Studio .Net 2003.

Quite simple really.

2005 is rumoured to be out late this year - whether it will be is anyone's guess - much like Vista is supposed to be out next year.

Ok I missunderstood you from earlier. So the SDK will work will the C++ part of Studio .NET. That all I really needed anyway. Thx Bouncy I look forward to upgrading fairly soon. I plan to finish my IDE project for the community. The it's on to C++ w/SDK for my next project.

Two final questions. Is there any form of help for the SDK? And is it public release or still beta?

Ok, again bouncy thanks for your help your a credit to the mods. There is a post that needs locking in general discussion. It's one I started and I'm making the request. The second page deteriorated into a flame war even when I tried to play nice.

I vote all power gets removed from bouncy brick for continual shameless pluging! This obviously falls under abuse of power by using it as leverage to gain votes

I'll be at your door with a pitch fork equiped mob on monday Bouncy.
