Ionstream, I understand what your trying to say but I can't completely agree with you here.
Quote: "Everything works without to much trouble"
Everything made to work as Microsoft Compatible that is.
Quote: " If you want software, you dont have to build the freakin' source, you just download the installer! "
Many linux distros are the same. Im on linux and I just download the installer for everything
Quote: "Windows only crashes if you're a dumbass!"
Semi-true. I have rarely ever had windows crash on me, but there are those times. Something as stupid as bad source code can bring the thing down. As for programs crashing(rather than the OS) this happens much more often. Probably because my crappy computer, but still, new windows versions should keep compatibility for low-end computer for us poor people, especially if they want to keep the business. Not everyone has the luxury of great computers.
Quote: "I'm sick of all these newbs saying that LINUX IS HTE BEST IT NEVAR CRASHES AND M$ WINDOWS SUCK."
Yea, I will agree with you on that, they make it seem much worse than it really is.
Quote: " Linux crashes!"
So far Linux has been MUCH more stable on my low-end computer.
Quote: "Linux is SLOW (KDE i mean, the desktop environment). "
For me, it runs much faster and smoother than the windows systems. It also offers much more access to the back-end of things to completely customize how it works.
Quote: "Linux has more compatibility issues than a Nazi in Israel!"
Other than missing my DirectX, I have had no issues with compatibility at all. Sure, it doesn't run some windows files, but windows doesn't run some linux files just the same.
Quote: "Sig changed for lagging up browsers."
Good Job
Quote: "I have found the most unstable part is Explorer - if you try to read a faulty CD it will either crash or display a run-time error message."
Agreed, and those run-time error messages just piss me off
Quote: " I do think that it should be a legal responsibility to make all commercial software 99.999% reliable (aka as reliable as possible)"
Yea, seems like Microsoft is a bit more worried with coming out with new stuff than making the old stuff perfect, which kind of sucks for the people who will never even use the "new stuff"
In Conclusion: Linux is for some people, Windows is for some, no-name dos is for the wierd, just pick what works best for you and I definately wouldn't say any one OS is 100% better than the other.
"Dark Basic rocks! Although the things you can do are not as dynamic as C++, just think how long it would take to do the same thing! I can get FPS of over 60!"
