Hi Folks,
I'd like to get an idea of how many of you will be using Max/gmax to create models for FPSC.

I'll consider releasing the Character Studio Bip files to attach to your own characters(animations for those not in the know) if theres enough interest - not until V1's on the shelves though.

Regards

I have Max and I'm very interested in creating my own characters rather than having the same as everyone else will use

By the way, I also have a movie of real second world war German and American automatic/semi-automatic weapons being fired at a test range in the States, this is a modern movie not from WW2, good quality and in colour. The sounds, smoke, case ejections and muzzle flashes are very evident.

If you want a copy to add realism to V2 or updates to V1 let me know.

Hi Komet,
A copy of that video would be extremely useful.
Its very hard to find good weapon reference material in the UK, particularly as a small developer.

Thanks for thinking of us.

Hi Simon, I know it's hard to obtain quality WW2 small arms audio/visual weapons reference material (anywhere) and you're welcome.

If you e-mail me I'll upload it to some webspace and send you the URL it's about 18MB zipped, WMV format. My e-mail address is:

paycometATntlworldDOTcom

Isolating and extracting the sounds should not represent a problem with a good audio editor which is what I was intending to do

When FPSC gets good enough, lets make a Redwall game!

Hey Sunflash, Rick (TGC) already mentioned in another thread that their employee (Simon) cannot be hired by people. You're therefore going to have to find another artist/modeller, look on that squid website and contact some modellers on there...

Use 3ds max is easy.

Use a version 6 or 7 (please use a student license )
Get the plug in http://www.andytather.co.uk/Panda/directxmax.aspx

Is a dirextx export plugin freeware and very good

When you export use the option tga export format for textures and put in FPSEA..

This is my best result.

Thanks for all, Kuwito.

Note: sorry for my english, i only speak spanish

There is another modeler program out there besides Max? Sorry, I've used Max since 3DS V4 (I still have my 4 DOS disks).

Hence to say, I use Max and Character Studios. Would be very nice to have the Biped (I hate weighting verts!)
