please sign your name (and maybe even a reason) to help encourage TGC to make a medieval model pack at some time in the future.

Sunflash T. Mace
(I'm going to try to make a Redwall game with a team. It will need some good midevil models)

NOTE: please, no needless commants or flames, this is topic is only for people that want tto put their names on the petition list. If you want to critisize or flame, please make a NEW topic.

When FPSC gets good enough, lets make a Redwall game!

What the hell are midevil models?

We need more Allied and Axis entities, weapons and vehicles, tanks, then more modern packs like for the gulf war.

Please, do NOT and I repeat, NOT post comments on why we SHOULDN'T have a medieval pack, simply post your forum name, and soem words of encouragment, then stop there.

@Zero #43
there a so many examples of FPS games that use melee fighting, one of my favorite is Knight Online, please, chck it out.

@Komet

Yes, I agree, we do need more WWII models, and that is exactly why I stated at the start of this topic:

Quote: "to help encourage TGC to make a medieval model pack at some time in the future."

they could make it two years from now, I don't really care... as long as it gets done that is.
please, no more posts like this anymore, just sign your name if your in favor of the idea.

When FPSC gets good enough, lets make a Redwall game!

Hey Sunflash just wondering how medieval packs would be useful in a first person shooter or have I missed something and FPSC has the capability for sword fighting? *confused now*

aside from a bow and perhaps a sword, i dont see how mideivil games are possible. I mean, isnt Redwall a series of rodents sowrding each other? sounds like a game that would be better as an RPG than a shooter.

Why do today what you could have someone else do?

see, if you made one with like, crossbows and bow and arrows and stuff you could do it. but not with swords. that is a whole new First Person Medieval Creator game engine

First Person Shooter Creator, not First Person Medieval Creator, if you want that, go find it unless its the crossbow things, but until you find one stick with the explosions and ww2/sci fi style.

well, I'm going to start the Redwall game when V2 comes out, but I would like to hear TGC say they have plans for a medieval pack.

@Zero #43
I beleive TGC are planning to do melee in like a year or so (I hope)
because think about it, have you seen an FPSC game that didn't have a knife, or some sort of blade?

@=ChrisB=
obsessed? yup! and thats what makes it fun!

@everyone
please, no more oppinions and chatter, from now on please just post your forum name if you want to sign the petiition.
I guess this is sorta more of a Melee combat petition.

I think the should create a medival model pack because of fantasy games and because of games like doom and things that have melee weapons in them.

ahh yea but isnt doom's main premise to shoot?
i suggest for a redwall type game there is a lot you can go with
-An RTS with good rats and evil rats as sides(i never read redwall)
-a Beat Em Up like the Dynasty Warriors series
-an RPG where you and other rats go on an adventure

A shooter is not for swordplay. the acronym is like this
First Person means you cant see all around you. 3rd person is best for the game you envision.
shooter means using "boomstick" and mainly "boomstick".

and i know games like Halo where you can use swords and all that. but i suggest a beat em up.

Version--DB Classic
900 mhz AMD Athlon, 128 MB RAM,
16 MB NVidia Vanta gfx card, Windows ME System software

I was talking about making a Redwall beat em up game. Except these guys use swords like in Battle Arena Toshinden. A strategy game would also be great. The only problem is that I'm not toog good with programming.

Well, if TGC makes a melee option so you can use a knife, then our troubles are all over. We arn't asking for V2 to be built with a Redwall game in mind. All we would like is some sort of melee option.

@Megaton Cat,
can you model? That wall looks great! Please keep us updated (make a thread)!

Couldn't a sword just be a fireweapon with a very little range (almost like the zombies melee script) ?
All you need then is the weapon models and animations and stuff.

True, however, I would have made it myself if I could model. There isn't enough people that can model that actually care about a midevil enough to make one.

And as long as it gets made within four years, I'm happy.
Also, the Sword idea (short range melee sword) wouldn't work because then it would be a "whoever hits first, wins" type of game. I think it would be cool to be able to deflect arrows and spears (if you're quick) and have nice long sword duels.

...fps games are ussually anything from ww2 scifi...and the time zones in between. thats because they have guns...and a first person "shooter" is for shooting.

...if it was for like a time traveling scifi game...then i could see it...but...i dont know about this...

it would be cool to have a katana or knife at least. you could then do matrix/kungfu style games, with guns and knives.

Name: Simon

Reason: Not enough medievil FPS games out there and this prog would be great for making one.

Just as another note i plan to convert the attached castle image into a working model for FPSC. Will take a while but hopefully will look good in the game.

Only thing is there are no rooms so i will have top figure what to put where so i'm looking for any good sites that would have this sort of info.

Cheers.

Simon.

wow!! That castle would be great for a MMORPG game! can you imagine 100,000 poeple marching up to it with bows and pikes an' all that sweet stuff, then up in the castle, there being like, 25,000 poeple trying to defend it. OOOoooOOO, wouldn't a battering ram be cool? *BOOM* *BOOM* "The gates have been breached my leige!" (voice chat would be needed to rap out commands fast enough) "good, have the men charge... take the King... alive." "Yes sire....CHARRRGE!" *errie battlecries*.
Couldn't you just picture that in your mind? I want a game that you can have almost any weapon you want, and you have higher ranking officers, but as you get destinguished in battle (if you do) then you could get promoted. I would love that! You can just imagine the chaos, people falling all around you, peirced with arrows, then, you make your way to the gate, storm through in a small but steady stream to meet the enemys army in battle. NOW thats my kind of game!

When FPSC gets good enough, lets make a Redwall game!

Thanks.

I will be away at work for the next 3 weeks so i'll be doing some stuff on it then.

It's a bit high in the polygon count as it was a tutorial in a Lightwave book so it will have to be cut down a bit but should still look pretty smart in FPSC though.

I know, but one has to be obssesive if one wants to get anything done.
Sorry, I just read a C.S. Lewis book series (Narnia), so I'm saying all that: "one must be very careful when one trips on oneselfs shoe laces because one when never knows when oneself will fall."

Just to get back on topic.... a medieval pack does have my vote!

Love to see medieval segments, like castle building parts and dungeons. Some medieval models, like a knight, king & queen. Also of course the needed items & furniture.

I would buy a good quality medieval pack without even thinking twice, a client of mine already informed about the possiblity of doing something either Roman or Medieval style.

If I do use FPSC to create a FPS? What's a FPS supposed to be anyway???

Anyone play RTCW?

Um that has what i think would be considered as castles style levels in it and is a fps, so gets my vote.

@ Sunflash: I use Lightwave for all my modelling and it was a tutorial in a book call Lightwave Applied for version 5.6 of Lightwave.
